This week we will once again be using our Orange Words Your Way Folders. Find your Workbook and follow the directions below!

1. Go to you Words Your Way Workbook and rip out the next Sort and Mat.

2. Complete the sorts listed below for each day.

3. Remember to store your words in a ziplock baggie to save the words you cut today!

Wednesday – Draw a Picture Sort

This week we will be using our Orange Words Your Way Folders. Find your Workbook and follow the directions below!

1. Open to the Table of Contents

2. Find the circled sort

3. Find the NEXT sort and tear out the words and sorting mat

Example: if Sort #7 is circled –proceed to Sort #8 (if #8 is missing go to #9)

4. Complete the sorts detailed below for each day of the week

5. Remember to store your words in a ziplock baggie until I assign the Final Sort (I put a baggie in your folder!)

Monday - Cut your Words Out, Complete the Word Sort

Tuesday – Complete the Snap and Clap Sort

You now have your Purple Monster book (It was in your delivery last Wednesday). In addition to practicing you Alphabet, Consonant Digraphs, and glued sounds, and searching for words with these sounds to add to your own Dictionaries, please complete the following:

Monday - -Complete the "Glued Sound" call and color the illustrations on page 3 (See image below)

Tuesday - Add the word "sink" and the sentence (listed below) to your Purple Monster Book Dictionary

Wednesday - Add the word "sunk" and the sentence (listed below) to your Purple Monster Book Dictionary

Thursday - Teach the "Call" to someone in your family - ask some of our questions!!!

I hope you have been practicing your sounds! I have added the glued sounds below to you daily practice. Included is a second page to you SOUND Dictionary. Please staple it to you Consonant, Short Vowels, Digraph page and start hunting for Glued Sounds in your reading too!

Below you will find our Wilson Fundations "Call" Chart. Get your pointer out and do the "Call" each day to practice your sounds.

When you are doing your reading each day, find 5 "juicy words" to add to your Consonant, Short Vowels, and Digraph dictionary!

You will be able to use some of these juicy words in your writing!

I will email copies of both of these charts to your parents.
