Father’s Day Projects!
This week we are getting ready for a VERY important holiday… Father’s Day! Each day you have three things to do!
1. Practice you Father’s Day Songs
2. Practice you Father’s Day Poems
3. Complete a Father’s Day Project

these instructions!
Monday - Father’s Day Hero Badge (See
below for picture of a completed Badge)
Step 1
– Remove materials needed (3 pieces) from your large plastic bag:
· Badge (My Hero Award) with construction paper backing
· My Hero (Picture Frame) with black construction paper backing
· Top 5 Reason Why You Are My Hero with orange construction paper
Step 2
- Complete your Top 5 Reasons of why your Dad is your hero.
Step 3
–
On the badge (My Hero Award)
· fill in the first line with the word
Dad
· pick your top 2 reasons why your Dad is your hero and complete the sentence on the badge.
· Put your name on the bottom of the badge where it says: By __________
· Color your badge, do not cover your words with marker
· Glue the badge onto the paper that matches its shape
Step 4
–
My Hero Picture Frame
· Color the frame
· and either glue or draw a picture of you and your dad
· Glue the frame onto the black construction paper
Step 5
- Putting It All Together
· Glue the circle badge onto the white half circle on the picture frame
Tuesday - Father’s Adjective Crown

· Materials needed: Headband with attached crown, stickers
· Step 1 – Make a list of 10 adjectives that describe your dad
· Step 2 – Select 8 of these adjectives and have an adult (not dad) check your spelling
· Step 3 – Write one adjective on each diagonal line. Use colored pencil or crayon.
· Step 4 – Write YOUR NAME on the blank line at the top of the crown
· Step 5 – Decorate the crown with stickers and drawings (do not color over your adjectives!)
· Step 6 – On Father’s Day-measure around Dad’s head and staple the crown to fit!

Wednesday - Father’s Day Prince Boxes - I Love You Slips
· Step 1 – Carefully open brown paper bag
· Step 2 – Remove Prince Box
· Step 3 – Take apart – remove 3 papers from inside
o You will then have the following items:
§ Prince Body
§ 3 lined pieces of paper
§ back of head glued to stick
§ front of head (white circle)
· Step 4 – On each piece of lined paper (there are 3) write and complete the following sentence:
o I LOVE my Dad because __________________________________.
· Step 5 – Fold each paper and place back into the bottom of the Prince Body (bottom of the box)
· Step 6 – Draw Dad’s face on the loose white circle (the one NOT glued to the stick)
· Step 7 – Color Dad’s back of his head to match his hair (white circle on the stick)
· Step 8 – Glue Dad’s face to the stick
· Step 9 – Slide the stick with Dad’s Head back into the Prince Body. Put together with large paperclip
Thursday - Dad Simile Booklet and Song Sheet
We have worked on similes. Now it’s time to write a simile about your dad!
· Step 1 – Choose an adjective the best describes your dad– you may use one from the adjective list.
· Step 2 – Complete the following sentence:
o My dad is as
___(adjective goes here)_____
as ________________________.
o Example: My dad is as brave as a lion protecting his loving cubs from predators.
· Step 3 – Check that you used lots of details when describing your dad!
· Step 4 - Have an adult (not dad) check the spelling
· Step 5 – Using your neatest handwriting, write your Dad Simile on your
song sheet

· Step 6 - Using your neatest handwriting, write your Dad Simile in the
Father’s Day booklet
on the page with the orange
post it note.
· Step 7 – In the Booklet, below the Dad simile, using crayons or colored pencils, draw a picture of you and your Dad!
Friday – Father’s Day Project- Just Me and My Dad Tile and Folder
Father’s Day Tile
Step 1 – Find and empty the baggie with your white tile, white square piece of paper, and 5 sharpie markers.
Step 2 – Practice drawing - On the white piece of paper, using colored pencils or crayons, draw a picture of you and your dad.
Step 3 – Once you are happy with your picture, draw the SAME picture onto the tile using the sharpie markers. (Remember – they
cannot be erased!)
Step 4 – Write your name and 2020 on the back of the tile.
Step 5 – Find your Father’s Day Folder and color the front and back.
Step 6 - Today you will check to be sure all your projects are done. Don’t forget to practice your songs, poems, and your Dad
SIMILE!
Put the following items in your Father’s Day two-pocket folder:
· Father’s Day Hero Badge,
· Adjective Crown
· Hero Medal
· Just Me and My Dad Tile
· Top Five Reasons Why you are my Hero
· Father’s Day Program and song sheet
· two laminated poems
