VISION
Mount Holyoke College provides a transformative education exemplified by a fulfilling student experience, characterized by:
a welcoming and caring environment where students build strong relationships and feel like they really matter;
transparent and equitable access to resources and opportunities that promote student learning and success;
integrated advising experiences and intentional and individualized mentorship, that encourage students' deep engagement;
an inclusive community that empowers students.
Mount Holyoke endeavors to support this experience through:
a user-friendly virtual hub with easy-to-use, streamlined technology and contemporary communications, that allow students to effectively navigate academic, financial, and administrative processes;
individualized and seamless systems that help students prioritize information, foster personal connections, and fully engage with their learning;
responsive, personalized applications that provide relevant and timely information to support students' curricular and co-curricular interests throughout their time at Mount Holyoke.
This vision was developed by MHC community members in the spring of 2021.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES
The Guiding Principles serve as essential decision-making criteria for the project, ensuring the timely and cost-effective achievement of Mount Holyoke's Student-Centered Vision for Services and Processes. The Executive Sponsors and Project Steering Committee endorse these principles and may modify or supplement them if required. Adherence to these principles is mandatory in all project planning and decision-making unless the Project Steering Committee approves an exception.
These Guiding Principles will be used to assess alternatives to existing practices, procedures, and tools, ensuring consistent decision-making throughout the project:
Transparency: We commit to sharing project information with the Mount Holyoke community through the project website and stakeholder updates.
Inclusion and Consensus: We encourage Mount Holyoke community members to provide input and express concerns. While we value all feedback, there is no guarantee that all suggestions or comments will be implemented.
Minimum Requirements: The Summit Project, including the Workday implementation, will cover the necessary features to replace/decommission the current Finance, Human Capital Management (HCM), and Student systems in Colleague and Lawson. Additional features will be considered if they can be reasonably achieved within existing resources, budget, and schedule.
Minimum Requirements: Project Summit, including the Workday implementation, will cover the necessary features to replace/decommission the current Finance, Human Capital Management (HCM), and Student systems in Colleague and Lawson. Additional features will be considered if they can be reasonably achieved within existing resources, budget, and schedule.
External and Peripheral Systems: The project aims to replace all external and peripheral systems with Workday solutions whenever possible, reducing Mount Holyoke's reliance on multiple systems, consolidating the data environment, and integrating the user experience. If there is a compelling business case for retaining a peripheral or external system, the Steering Committee will decide whether it meets the standard for retention.
System of Record: Workday will serve as the official, authoritative data source for financial, student, and HCM information at Mount Holyoke. All supporting systems must ensure their data standards align with the corresponding data in Workday.
