I started learning French in high school in the 1990's! I continued to study the language in college, with one month of summer instruction at the Centre d'International d'Etudes Françaises in Angers, France. In addition to teaching French, I also worked for 14 years interviewing French-speaking farmers in Québec, giving me the opportunity to practice speaking a different dialect and improve my overall proficiency.
Several years into my teaching career, I decided to learn Spanish and took some classes online through Oregon State University. With those courses, I was able to obtain an endorsement to teach Spanish. I have been teaching level one high school Spanish since 2016. I hope to have the chance to teach other levels and continue to improve my Spanish proficiency.
