MAFLT Portfolio

Kaitlyn Spires

Welcome to my portfolio!

This portfolio broadcasts the work I have created during my time in the MAFLT program at Michigan State. Throughout my time in the program I have learned more about language education, research, technology, and culture that I can use to promote learner's language growth.

As a language educator, I spend my time teaching my flight attendant colleagues about culture and the Spanish language. This portfolio highlights my previous teaching experience, as well as who I am as an educator today.

Portfolio Highlights

Credentials

In my credentials section, I display my education background, proficiency levels, and experience in the instructional setting.

Beliefs & Practices

In my practices and beliefs I discuss my time in the classroom, but also the knowledge I have gained in my time in the MAFLT program and being a language educator in my role as a flight attendant.

Intercultural Evidence

My favorite course in the MAFLT program has been FLT 815. This course allowed me to explore culture in the classroom, as well as look at my own intercultural competence while being a flight attendant.

Experiential Module

The experiential module is my final master's project. This project allowed me to incorporate learned knowledge throughout my time in the MAFLT program into my daily job as a flight attendant. This project is designed to help flight attendants, such as myself, to interact and provide service to people of different native cultures and languages.
