This site presents the materials I have created and research I have conducted for my Master of Arts in Foreign Language Teaching (MAFLT) at Michigan State University. My work centers on three criteria: 1. proficiency-based approaches, 2. integration of culture and technology, and 3. teacher leadership.
I hope that this site communicates what I believe about language teaching and learning and how I seek to grow as an educator.
This activity unit, designed for novice university learners, suggests a way to blend culture into language instruction.
Here I feature three of my corpus-based instructional units for novice to advanced older learners that deploy their linguistic awareness.
I organized a language & culture summer program for local young learners. Find my activity designs here.
For my fellow language teachers, I presented how to promote ICC and practical life skills through genre-based writing instruction.
