My current teaching context is quite divergent. I teach from pre-K to adult students with varying learning background and proficiency range. I love and enjoy being able to teach such diverse audiences: each context complements one another to inform my teaching practice in which I am truly allowed to observe the language development in continuum.
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill: 2021 to present
I am a visiting instructor at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I have been teaching 100-level to 400-level Japanese courses since 2021. I enjoy offering flexible office hours and opportunities for students to collaborate and use the target language outside the classroom.
Takenoko Japanese Language & Culture School: 2021 to present
On weekend, I teach pre-K to K-12 students in a private language and culture school which I co-operate with two other local educators. We maintain a small classroom size to realize individualized instruction that are tailored to each learner's social, cognitive, and linguistic readiness.
Private Japanese Language Tutoring: 2021 to present
I offer customized language tutoring both in-person and online. I work with K-12, university, and adult students with all proficiency levels.
