The Nation had an opportunity to return to its founding lands from the 1850s... and took it! After years of exile within the walls of Lone Pine Elementary, Il Presidente and the surviving celebrities moved their traditions and relics of the former citizens to Room 8 within the walls of Jacksonville Elementary in Jacksonville, Oregon. The new location features much more space, including a separate "back room" that now houses the Rossi National Library. New jobs include County Commissioners, Sheriff, and Governor. And even Shadow the Wagon called this place "home sweet home" --- pioneers have to have their wagons!
In a crazy coincidence, Hailey H. becomes the first citizen to have a birthday on the first day of school since Autumn Barnes, a founder of Rossiville, Rossi Nation. Autumn also happened to be the first student to be served by both Mr. and Mrs. Rossi. Autumn ended up spending the day with the Nation on 9/8/25. We celebrated her legacy and presented her with her 100 Rupee Mayor bill.

Frax makes its Rossiville debut on 9/17/25. Ashley C. blasted through XtraMath to test out the new program, which brings fractions to life in a fun way. Frax replaced the traditional paper quick facts program.

The Nation did its annual bus evacuation drill on 9/23/25, except this time it was done on a short bus for the first time!
A weird coincidence occurred on 10/6/25. Governor Rose presented a scoop about the recovering manatee population in Florida. When Il Presidente looked up a picture of a manatee, the website went to an article by "Lucy Sherriff". Lucy C. is Rossiville's first-ever sheriff, and she always protects Governor Rose.
Rossiville started studying salmon for the first time, which included field trips out to explore the Applegate and Rogue Rivers. Then a tank was provided to the classroom and we raised eggs into alevins.
Citizens (and Il Presidente) have to endure the latest lunch (12:05pm) and the shortest lunch (35 minutes) in our history! Also, we have the earliest "specials" time ever, three days a week, at 8:15 am.
Camila L. is the first citizen born in Florida... West Palm Beach, baby!
For the first time, the Nation has two storekeepers at once - one to manage snacks and the other to manage other goods. We also added an extra Courier. Also, the Police Officer changed to Police Chief.
Rossiville retired the Academic Manager roller chairs and the Mayor rocking chair due to wear and tear. Mayor Kam declared the change with tears. We replaced the rollers with blue chairs, and the rocker with a golden chair (which was a part of the original Rossiville in 2014). On November 22, 2024, Mayor Sawyer B. declared the orange chairs too wide, so we replaced them with the smaller blue chairs. This ended the long-standing tradition of Rossiville having secretaries.
The first-ever "conga line" developed in Rossiville, started by Siena R. during the chicken dance!
The 11th generation broke the speed record for Town Hall positions - 6.59 seconds!
We removed the COVID-Era plexiglass from the store.
Sometime on the week of September 23rd, Billy Bob the Economy Frog and Guac disappeared! Rossi Nation's surveillance team found them in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We later received a postcard telling us that they retired. Sadly, their picture indicated they were at Senior Frogs restaurant, known for their wonderful guacamole and fried frog legs!
On 9/25/24, Rossiville said goodbye to the "wobbly stools" and replaced them with mini-chairs, similar to our early days. Mayor Cadence declared that Rossi Town must have them and we said our goodbyes.
On 10/3/24, Rossiville had a record FIVE substitutes in ONE day! On the same day, Box Top Bob started eating again! Except this time, LATE SLIPS! He is so happy!
October 9, 2024 will go down as one of the most influential days in Rossiville history. At the end of the day, all citizens put their belongings into their attics and garages. Name tags were removed. Permanent seating ceased! Il Presidente basically "deleted" the Nation!
Citizens officially became nomads and rented out their houses as AirBRB's (Air Be-Right-Backs). All Secretaries and the Home Inspector were laid off, as the jobs no longer were needed. Many of the desks were removed.
Bug Lady XXV becomes the first Bug Lady to pass away as a larva.
On 10/23/24, it was official that KinPump and his son KinPump Jr. Jr. II, flew to Australia on LA Flights. They were arrested by CA+0 Security by the Opera House. We discovered that KinPump chose Australia because they don't like Halloween (he doesn't either!), but he didn't realize that Australians LOVE to eat pumpkins!
Some time on the weekend of 11/16, Flubber and Flubber Jr - beloved celebrities - disappeared from Rossiville. Mr. Nomad posted suspicious Instagram videos about it, and we never expect to see them again.
On 12/9/24, Rossiville celebrated and focused on the poetry of Nikki Giovanni, the "Princess of Black Poetry." Many citizens questioned if she was still alive and Il Presidente assured them she was about 80 years old. In a shocking coincidence, she passed away at the age of 81 THAT SAME NIGHT.
On 12/13/24, one of the WORST floods ever occurred, right under the Array Office. Il Presidente accidentally kept picking up Marcella's waterbottle and about to drink from it thinking it was his. After a couple of close calls, Marcella apparently poured the whole thing on the floor to stop him from drinking from it!

On 1/10/25, Il Presidente put on a video and sounds of heavy rain to make the journal entry writing for Lewis and Clark more interesting. Immediately, it started to rain outside... for real!
On the same day, Il Presidente decided to plant the Venus Fly Trap plant from our class plant collection outside by the sacred succulents! This idea was approved by citizen Emily D. who purchased the plant for the Nation.
On 1/16/25, Mayor Sawyer B. spearheaded a powerful conspiracy that Bob Ross faked his death and became Mr. Nomad! She found that one of our city signs from the 4th generation said, "Rossville" all these years! We pulled it off the wall. During COVID, it is true that a mysterious Bob Ross video appeared on Rossiville's Canvas page where he stated, "There are no mistakes; just happy accidents!"
On 1/22/25, Siena R. became the 44th Mayor of Rossiville. It just so happened that 44 is 2 x 22, on the 22nd day, with 22 students in attendance! Siena's 3rd-grade number was 22, also... and the Mayor before her... Sawyer B. is number 22!
Sometime around 1/23/25, two more celebrities went missing! Our dear Mr. Rosie and Kate the Cat disappeared from Rossiville, just two weeks after Gabi C. of the 10th generation posted a 22 Uno card on our door!
2/3/25 became a State of Emergency for Rossiville, as snow kept falling all morning and stuck. We evacuated the Nation at 11:30 am to get home safely. We were not able to return until 9:50 am on 2/7/25! That day, 12 citizens of Rossiville were absent!
On 2/7/25, Rossiville said goodbye to Il Presidente's 2nd chair, which was falling apart and quite squeaky. A lighter-weight and very slick-tired chair replaced it.
For the first time, we had the ENTIRE 4th grade watch a presentation in Rossiville. Mr. Smith told us all about the awesome stuff we'd learn in Jacksonville.
On March 21, 2025, Rossiville had a lovely field trip to Jacksonville. This trip included THREE new interior sites for our Nation: Beekman's Gothic Methodist Church, Jane McCully's house with its newly discovered well, and St. Joseph's Catholic Church. We also saw some very scary stuff inside the old school, including La Befana, a creepy shadow of person in a picture, and a bunch of dead lady bugs!
On April 11, 2025, Rossiville's 11th generation voted to close the Erika George Rossiville Zoo after seven amazing years! Citizens adopted one animal and took them home, while the others remained... roaming the streets of Rossiville.
Our class brought in the most money for our Sparrow, mainly thanks to Kam F! We got a pizza party from Little Ceasars. We almost ran out of pizza, so Il Presidente took... little scissors... and cut the last several pieces in half to make it work!
4/15/25 brought us two new job titles: Laundry Attendant and Street Cleaner!
Kam F. introduced us to the good 'ol 6-7! We decided to change it to 6/7 (a fraction) instead since that's what we were studying in math.
This was the first year that FIVE mayors led the Nation instead of the standard FOUR.
We got ROCKED in kickball. We scored only 15 points and gave up 87! Nevertheless, we had a great time being outside!
Major changes occurred in the Nation: 1) The stock market is no longer operated by a citizen stockbroker and individual stocks are not tracked; 2) The real estate world now follows a new model of "upgrading" versus citizens being able to choose from a variety of home styles; 3) House pictures no longer reside on the desks, rather a city map shows everyone's house style; 4) Supply boxes and pets now stay in the PO Box zone, rather than inside citizen houses; 5) The car dealership opens!; 6) Spelling homework and tests are now a thing of the past, as Amplify "replaces" Journeys for ELA.
We had some new connections outside of Oregon this year! Robert Stubbs is the firstborn in Arkansas; Alice Clasen from Indiana.
On 8/29/23, the terrible Flood of 2023 hit the Blue Mountains!
Citizen Lydia H (and family) brought in three Monarch caterpillars for Rossiville to care for, a first for our nation. They came with a lovely cube cage and milkweed leaves for them to feast on. The chrysalises formed on the plastic lid and the roof! Butterscotch, a male, joined us first in his updated butterfly form. A couple of days later, Milky Way, a female, joined in! On October 4, 2023, another male named Charles became the third butterfly. We celebrated with a release ceremony in the Rossiville Garden. It was a beautiful day!
In a case of irony, Lydia made Monkey-Without-A-Name FLY during the town hall, and the poor guy landed in a light! We had to poke him down with a meter stick! When he came down, he exclaimed, "I thought my life was over... I saw the light!" In a weird coincidence, Il Presidente threw Lilly D's cat across the room and it also landed on the same light fixture!
A record SIX flies got caught in the classroom on 9/22/23 because they snuck in the night before during Open House. We hunted them down, with Sam G. getting one with his library book! We almost got one with the swatter when it landed on Wade W's head, but it rolled off the swatter and into a spider web! Miraculously, it escaped the web!
On 9/25/23, Greyson H. brought his grandpa's phone to school accidentally! It rang in class during a lesson on good MEDIA choices. Mayor Zoey and Officer Leon had to escort the phone to the office.
Butterscotch, our first Monarch butterfly, hatched and took flight on 9/28/23!
Gabby Y. held the class birthday balloon hostage on 10/4/23, demanding that we pass a law that allows birthday students to go to lunch first before everyone. The law was passed without any resistance on 10/5/23!
The succulent plant that was given to Il Presidente in 2019 by Mayor Campbell Allred died sometime this year (it was left outside with no water for a month this summer!), even though Doctor Lilly Drake tried life-saving procedures.
To replace our dear plant, we borrowed half of the succulents from the Rossiville Garden complex on October 19th, 2023, and put them in the same pot as our beloved fallen one. Mayor Zoey A. and Lilly D. made special signs in the garden to protect the family outside!
On 10/26/2023, Kirtland Road experienced its worst flood in history, as a waterfall poured out of Baxter S's condo!
On 10/31/2023 - Halloween! - Alice C. became the 38th mayor of Rossiville, which broke a record... girl mayors FIVE times in a row! THEN... Sophia G. followed as the 39th Mayor and SIXTH girl in a row. Easton S. broke the streak as the 40th Mayor.
Tristan K. received the first Mystery Message of the year, and it happened to be the first "Celebrity for a Day" card! He chose the one-and-only Fred Sour! Fred had a day to remember!
On 11/8/2023, KinPump Jr. Jr. I lost his life due to rotting and was buried in the Rossiville Garden in a beautiful ceremony. He was replaced by KinPump Jr. Jr. II, who is plastic like his dad!
On 11/28/2023, Rossiville learned about sound energy. Sadly, later that day, Chase R. became the first citizen in our history to be in the restroom during a fire drill! Sadly, that is one of the loudest sounds to endure and it really helped the sound lesson come to life!
On 12/1/2023, Rossiville won its first Golden Spoon Award in its history!
On 12/11/2023, Kenneth S. became the first citizen to get a "strike" on the Roll-A-Fact math game! While the three numbers can't be revealed here, we have a hint for you... you must have a square root.
Lucas G. becomes the first citizen to get their art on a month of the Medford Water Commission annual calendar! He's the man of March! Bailey H. also got an honorable mention!
On 1/25/24, Rossiville taught their 1st-grade buddies of LeBleu Land how to clean their houses and streets. On 2/2/24 before the assembly, Rossiville took a knee for them as a sign of respect. It happened to be that the 1st-grade buddies won the golden broom for the first time that day! They decided to split it with us!
Greyson H. caught a critical mistake on the purple homework guide on 2/12/24! It has always said "Mediation Monday" rather than the correct term, "Meditation Monday"! Remarkably, such a mistake has been unnoticed for that many years! He was rewarded with 100 Rupees for the catch!
On 2/29/24 (Leap Day!), we had a buddy nation visit to shop at our small business time! The first graders were given a handful of small bills (around 35 Rupees?) and told to spend it all!
On 3/4/24, we celebrated with a pizza party provided by Rave Orthodontics! It was all because Dr. Kenneth S. nominated us when he was at his appointment. Citizens received Costco pizza, a Capri-Sun, a bag of dental things, and a cool thermal pencil!
During the last several weeks of March, Rossiville sent Mayor Sophia G. and Officer Logan V. on a special mission of diplomacy. They went out to urge nations to support Johnsonshire in the Coin War. They also tried to gain intel about other Nation's military strength. The "Free Citizens of Room 6" (under the leadership of Mr. Pyle) donated several dollars to our cause.
For the first time in our history, we opted to send all of our "ammunition" to Johnsonshire to support their Coin War cause. They didn't win the war, but we still got to celebrate our partnership with a popsicle/3rd recess party on May 16, 2024!
Our old projector and roller screen was replaced by a new whiteboard-mounted projector during spring break! It now projects in widescreen mode and has great color, but sadly we need to open up a slow computer program each morning to use the doc-cam :(
On 4/3/24, Alice C. became the second citizen of Rossiville to be recognized by the Medford Rogue Rotary! Mayor Sean K. of the 6th generation received the first award on 10/4/23. Alice (citizen #2!) is the youngest, however, to be recognized. Both were honored for excelling in academics, leadership, and service above themselves.
A solar eclipse occurred on 4/8/2024. This was the first occurrence of this during a school day in our history. It was partial here in Oregon, but we still got to use special glasses to watch some of it. Over half the class, including Il Presidente, saw a very small black dot in the center of the sun the whole time! Also, for the event, citizen Greyson H. went to Texas to be under the path of totality. Totality occurred during the 11th hour of the day... coincidence?!
On April 14, 2024, a rollie pollie was introduced to Bug Lady the 24th's cage for a match to the death. Unfortunately for Rollie, that time came the very next day. A second one would face BL not long after and would actually become great friends.
Newly elected Mayor Easton "The Humble" took a vacation after one week on the job, and then another out-of-town trip weeks later. Our stand-in for him for over a week and a half was Doctor Gabriella C., a first-time for a Doctor... so she was known as "Murr-Doc!" Well, on HER first two days of the job, SHE was absent! So Paisley S. became the "Murr-Doc-Doc", as she was a former doctor herself! Gabriella C. would later do many tasks, including delivering tissues to poor Johnsonshire, whose citizens had a terrible allergy outbreak! Coincidentally, she performed the first Mayor physical to ensure Easton was fit for duty.
The citizens of the 10th generation did an AMAZING job performing in The Lion King play and got TWO major parts on stage as the hyenas. After two performances on May 1-2, Mrs. Beck was acting odd and took their hats away after the closing scene.
The next morning on May 3, 2024, a highly dramatic scene occurred in our Nation! 5th-grade citizens Jocelyn, Landry, and Kaliyah arrived with a garbage bag and said they caught Mason Burton running away with it. We opened it to find that all the hats were in it! It all made sense in that moment... MASON FRAMED GREYSON! Now it makes sense why TWO hyenas ran through our room this year. For the first time in our history, a citizen committed TWO crimes against us... and this time framed a citizen of their own! Greyson H. was cleared of his crime during the morning town hall.
Sometime around 5/15/24, little plastic ducks began to show up around Lone Pine. Six known ones were found in Rossiville in the strangest of places! A week later, an egg with a face on it appeared, and then a hanging Lego dude!
As weeks went on, the evidence piled up! One citizen looked at the Lego Friends character and turned pale in the face because they knew something I didn't know... that Lego pack named the character as Paisley! Mr. Rossi spent many days camping out behind garbage bags in hopes to find out who was behind all these pranks, but no luck. Rossiville's surveillance team eventually got a security cam alert one night. First Mayor Easton S., who was making sure things were ok, and then..... then.... PAISLEY S who was working with Gabi C the whole time!
Fred Sour took a trip to Orchard Hill Elementary School for a whole week on 5/6/24 to be with Vice President Ford's 4th grade class! They wrote him letters and he responded with one of his own and decided to go on a vacation. Fred spoke of how he got to fly around the class and spend recess time with the kids. He even had some buddy reading time!
This year, Il Presidente Rossi had extensive blood work done to find a cure for his punijokatitis. At the Red Cross, a study on him discovered that perhaps eating Cooper Street Blueberry Lemon Twice-Baked Cookies led to a decrease in puns. He ended up going a whole week without a joke, but at a cost... he found nothing really to be funny. Dr. Kenneth S. then experimented on the cookies so the effect wasn't as strong and Il Presidente could keep being at least a little silly. The Red Cross now supplies him with bags of cookies!
Leon C. wins the Mascot Challenge on May 15, 2024, with his vision of the Lone Pine Cows and mascot Bessy!
As promised, Il Presidente Rossi covered Group 1 with a blanket of tardy slips for no apparent reason. They had been collected for a month or more. Finally, on May 21, 2024, a perfect array to his liking was made and a declaration was made. It wasn't as amazing as he thought.
Also that day, 3rd Graders were celebrating Kona Ice. Not sure what to do about it, Rossiville sent out their Mayor Easton S. to stare them down while eating a popsicle.
On May 22, 2024, Isaac E. performed a concert for the Nation using his guitar and angelic voice! Security forces had to keep the crowd calm and helped facilitate an autograph session after school.

Noah Hopkins voted to change the ZIP Code of Rossiville from 77777 to 13777 to include the classroom number.
Morning Math was introduced to citizens for the first time, allowing them to practice math AND writing in the morning. Citizens started writing their math and Fred sentences in a booklet, eliminating the need for a morning whiteboard.
Also, binders went away. Citizens started using subject folders within their houses and organized their own unfinished work, rather than relying on group secretaries.
On Mr. Rossi's birthday, Rossiville's beloved vacuum broke down and could not be saved by surgeon Easton Muffler. The next day on 9/13/22, Citizen Sam Farris presented Mr. Rossi with a birthday gift --- A NEW VACUUM!
Rossiville wins the "A+ Recorder" award for the FIRST time in Music. Mrs. Beck broke the news in dramatic fashion and Il Presidente fainted. It would even be co-awarded eventually. When sharing the award with Tollefson National Park, Franny Wave made several appearances, to the delight of the Nation! Our celebrities traveled as well and guarded the recorder.
The class would go on to win it eight times that year!
On October 6, 2022, The Great Flood of 2022 occurred near the Rossiville Gate!
Animals were banned from the Condos by Rossiville's lawyer and Condos manager, Bob Loblaw. The Nation was not pleased! Homeowners are now the only citizens able to have pets.
Rossiville 9.0 is the first class to use Lone Pine's new Erosion Table in STEAM class with Mr. Franklin!
Group seating was eliminated for the first time, resulting in a major shift in job responsibilities. Q2 job applications never happened and not everyone could receive a job. This would continue to occur in various ways throughout the year.
Bug Lady XVII passed away on 10/24/22, and after time flew by that day, a HUMMINGBIRD flew INTO the classroom for the last 20 minutes. Mr. Blood saved it by guiding it out of the room with Jayden's red sweatshirt. Who knew?! It was "wear red day" and hummingbirds are attracted to red!

Diary of A Wimpy Kid: Diper Overlode had a song lyrics contest and Rossiville took its shot at writing two stanzas for it! A sizeable group (led by Ryan Patterson and Addilee Pershin) wrote and then voted on the final lines:

Bobble head
That’s so cool
Drive a van
Rodrick rules
Hit a fwoomp
We’re all fools

On December 16, 4th grade wins the Golden Shoe award! This new award for Lone Pine landed in the right place. Kuddos to all 4th graders for taking the right step! On the same day, Rossiville was visited by a caterpillar named Gerry, and he stayed on the plant all day.
For Christmas, we baked SYNONYM ROLLS for the first time. Mr. Rossi accidentally put them in the ANTOMYN oven, so the citizens ended up eating cookies instead.
Isaac Boger receives the first-ever Mystery Message (which is basically like a Paul Hollywood handshake on The British Baking Show).
On January 4, 2023, during one of the more intense, prolonged windstorms in our history, our lunch wagon Shadow took a wild ride down the upper wing. In front of Johnsonshire, it moved back and forth for the entertainment of their nation! It was saved by Lukas of Perkins Island and returned to us. He was rewarded with a free vacation in Rossiville for most of the morning. As a coincidence, we just so happened to be learning about hurricanes that week.

We'd win the award twice during the year!
On February 17, a stress ball from L&K Bestie Market exploded on Il Presidente while he (the spokesman) was promoting their business. This started a double lawsuit involving unfair advertising fees and harm to reputation from both sides. After having a meeting with lawyers on 2/24/23, Rossi Nation vs. L&K Bestie Market, et al. settled out of court for an undisclosed amount.
Lead Rossiville Engineer Zach W. and assistant Kellan S. investigated a faulty hair dryer that caused alarm while Il Presidente traveled on Captain A'Murica while camping. He found that a safety net had been punctured, and hair had gotten into the coils and burned!

On Valentine's Day, we discovered that three boys in Group 2 aligned with Mason (Group 4) were ALL #22 in 3rd grade. They were seated in the same order as the 3rd-grade classrooms! Can you blame anyone who TARGETS him?! On March 5th, Mr. Rossi's elementary school BURTON was torn down! His Burton Little League jersey number was 22 in 4th grade! Did you know that making the quiet or victory "V" symbol with your fingers is showing the 22nd letter of the alphabet?

On February 27, 2023, Rossiville launched a heart-shaped spy balloon, engineered by Haisley DeBoer by as a "Valentine's Day gift" to Il Presidente Rossi. Rossi then traveled over and awkwardly gave it to Parker as a "birthday gift" even though it wasn't his special day. This was Operation Wandering Heart!
Special agents Kaliyah Mercer, Brynlee Goyne, and Landry Chin then used classified technology to bring on a snow day on February 28, 2023, in order to give enough time to monitor the activities of Parker Fox and Perkins Island at large without students around. The snow melted earlier than expected and it is believed that Ms. Perkins shot down the balloon with a pencil dart.
On March 3, 2023, Rossiville had an intelligence briefing on the 107th Day of School. Later on, a Tollefson National Park double agent transferred a package to Queen Perkins containing sensitive information, including the official spy video on a hard drive, as well as surveillance photos. Citizens listened in on Perkins Island's reaction to the video! Moments later, Mr. Blood ("war") delivered a package of towels, including a small, white capsule with a teardrop on it. When put under water, it revealed a white surrender flag! This sparked the Heartless War of 2023.

After a quick rally led by retired Dr. Farris, diplomats from Jones Junction officially made peace with Rossi Nation after the glitter bomb incident of 2022. Mayor Mercer accepted the treaty from Jones citizens Paris and (former Rossiville) Capri Curtis. This treaty would not have been possible without the efforts of Secret Agent Ayden Starcher. The sanctions on Jones Junction were lifted!
The Fred Memorial Library website (Library Cat) was closed down and turned into a spreadsheet.

On 3/21/23, Rossiville welcomed lovely Japanese tourists named Aketa Keiko, Itsuki Nakamura, and Naoko (Miles)! We learned about Japanese culture and had a fun Q&A. We compared our nations' passports and exchanged gifts. They made us tons of origami and they shopped at Fred Sour's! It was joyous!
4/5/23 started off peacefully until Ol' Murr KALIYAH threw a pencil at Mr. Rossi's face! It was an accident of course. She was excitedly doing the "Tally Ho" method for improper fractions and lost control of her lasso! We shared a laugh as a class and were thankful it wasn't an eye.
Later that day, Rossiville made peace with Perkins Island and had a ceremony to sign the Treaty of Alliance. Peace offerings were exchanged: Orangutan With-A-Name (Monkey Without-A-Name's mom) was given and we received... driftwood.
Between our two nations, we raised $509.11 for our Sparrow Grayson! (Rossiville $151 bills/$92.33 coin = $243.33 total!) (Perkins Island $151 bills/$114.78 coin = $265.78 total!)
For most of the year, Landry's spy picture sat on Il Presidente's desktop, creating some funny situations for him!
May 9, 2023 was an odd day. Early that morning, it was discovered that Bug Lady XIX had passed away peacefully. Later, we had to travel to North Medford High School for the school play rehearsal. Because of the lack of space on the bus, Mr. Rossi and five citizens had to walk at a brisk pace to get there! The field trip brought SEVEN generations of Rossiville together in one place, which was special!
Around 5/10/23, a flock of Kindergeese delivered a tub of ladybugs to the Rossiville garden, revealing our beloved BugLady XX. On the morning of 5/12/23, it was discovered that many ladybugs drowned in a tragic sprinkler-fill-the-tub accident. We likely saved BLXX from disaster.
Liam Birrueta and Jett Snider did an investigation that discovered that Monkey Without-A-Name has a more complicated story than once believed. His mom is an orangutan (who lives in Perkins Island) and his dad was a prehistoric monkey! So, he's not fully a monkey after all, and resembles his mother's side - orangutan! Orangutan Without-A-Name... has a good ring to it!
The closest mock United States election occurred, with the Din-O-Nuggies winning with 207 electoral points! President Ryan Patterson and Vice President Zach Weisz ruled!
This class often serenaded teachers and others with "I Want It That Way" by the Backstreet Boys, including the directors of Britt Festivals in Jacksonville, Oregon!
Only class to have no additions or losses... the same 27 students ALL YEAR!
In a National first, Rossiville officially has a vice president - Ms. Sarah Ford! Later in the year, she'd even be presented a National first... a 1,000 Rupee Bill, which Peyton Pruitt was the only one to hold from circulation during the year.
Rossiville has never had a citizen with a first name beginning with the letter i, until now... AND THERE ARE TWO OF THEM: Isaac Siegrist and Isaiah Douglas! That leaves only F, X, U, and Y as the last remaining unused first-name letters. Q and X are the last remaining unused last-name letters. Citizen #1 is the only multi-citizen number to be shared by one letter - A.
Jessica Torralba becomes the first citizen to be an aunt of another citizen. But wait?! you ask? That's right. Her nephew, Lance Stone, became a citizen in 2018-2019! With the help of Lance and Pan-Pan, they would grant Il Presidente a more formal, long-term parking spot at their residence per the constitution. They later rented the house and the renters refused to allow the parking to continue!
Isaiah Douglas becomes the first Rossiville citizen to come from the state of Texas. He also received the last blue police ticket in Rossiville history for speeding down Lone Pine Highway. Violations are now recorded by police and delivered to the Rossiville Courthouse, where Judge Lawdee Dawdee calls offenders to do acts of community service to pay off debt.
Kaydence Garvin is the first citizen of Rossiville to come from the state of Colorado.
Daniel Lauesi is the first citizen of American Samoa.
Rossiville helps Franny Wave build a structure to get to Fred for the first time in our history. Soon after, we would support Perkin's Island by building their beloved Princess Pineapple a shelter to protect her from a major hurricane. Kaydence Garvin and Austin Lloyd created the prized structure, now located in the Rossiville Museum.
On 9/10/21, Kieran Smullin breaks the record for the number of level-ups in quick facts in one week - four! He started on 9/7/21 and traveled from XtraMath addition all the way past XtraMath division! Amazing! He went on to graduate from quick facts before the end of September. Truly remarkable! A funny thing happened, too. During one of his Exponent tests, Mr. Rossi forgot to stop timing him at two minutes! When he realized this, he screamed for Kieran to stop and the watch showed seven minutes, forty-five seconds!
Eventually, Mr. Rossi had to create THREE new categories for quick facts for him to do: linear equations, PEMDAS, and area/perimeter.
The 4th Grade Garden becomes a thing of beauty! It is believed that the release of Bug Lady XI in the spring may have contributed to its success! Upon inspection, it was found that tons of ladybugs populated the garden!
Bug and a Wish zone begins!
Citizen Corbin Algazy becomes the first citizen to bring in a pet snake. Larry was thrilled! Corbin gave an amazing presentation and showed us how brilliant and knowledgeable about snakes he is.
On 10/15/21, the Timmy 2 Rupee bill was revealed to the Nation. Citizen and philanthropist Isaac Siegrist, who donated Timmy to the Nation, received the first copy, which was signed. Only six were ever produced, five remaining in Rossiville.
2021/2022 saw the biggest push for new Rupee bills in our history. Thousands of old, rough Rupees were retired. Citizens quickly discovered that the 2021/2022 template created slightly larger bill sizes than the originals!
Isaac Siegrist becomes the first citizen to actually sell items online and make US Dollars for his small business!
A record seven students were absent from school on 10/21/21, making for a very quiet morning! A large cold swept through the Nation on Monday. Not to be outdone by themselves, a record 8 students were gone on 10/22/21, leaving only 16 citizens left - a record for normal times.
Rossiville harvested multiple pumpkins and donated them to Mr. Franklin's STEAM class! The Nation also made its first batch of POPCORN ever!
On 11/3/21, the Nation voted to officially stack chairs in a new way - with legs pointed up! Gone are the days of trying to figure out the crisscrossing puzzle of stacking chairs with a neighbor!
Rossiville Online went through major upgrades to its coding! Nearly all "vlookup" formulas were updated to the more efficient "index/match" methodology. The upgrade greatly improved speeds for bankers and law enforcement.
On 11/10/21, two new laws were passed. First, Andre Hackett's Lexile's On File Act states that Mr. Rossi carries a list of citizen Lexile ranges to library time, every time. Secondly, TypingClub officially moved over to HELLOID's portal, increasing the lesson count from 100 to 692 total lessons! More retirement money to be earned; all thanks to the Isaac Siegrist Type Till Your Fingers Fall Off Act.
On 11/12/21, TWO citizens moved away from Rossi Nation - a record for a single day. Jayden Valencia and Matthew Wilson were both close friends, members of the Rossiville Law Enforcement Agency, and lived in the same condo complex. Many believe they had been plotting this for months in order to get into this record of history. The loss left us with our lowest population in history - 22 students! With Jessica Torralba moving after Christmas, Rossiville reached its smallest student population ever at 21. Kinlee Pershin came months later, only to witness Jesse Craig leave just a week before school let out, again leaving us at 21 students to end the year.
On 11/17/21, Mayor Andre "The Giant II" Hackett discovered that his operations quick facts paper had 50 math problems instead of the advertised 40 problems, meaning that for the entire history of the program, citizens were doing 10 more problems than required! It was corrected immediately!
Sign of the times! With limited citizens in the workforce and high unemployment, secretary Dalton Wells has to manage two groups - 3 and 4. Group 4, however, is only comprised of two citizens, the smallest group ever!
Sabrah Fredrickson, the 23rd Mayor of Rossiville, committed a terrible crime in Rossiville. She always believed that she should be the leader of our Nation. She attempted to recruit more citizens to the Rossiville Secret Society by bribing them with counterfeit hundred Rupee bills!
Austin Lloyd inspired the Rossiville National Bank to add customers' pay rates to their bank statements while in line at the bank. Citizens have been requesting this for years, and Austin finally put his foot down. Well, he put two feet down, but you know.
Mayor Andre Hackett shared the news about Russia shooting down satellites, which led to a conversation about the Cold War. After a thorough discussion, Rossi Nation theorized that the USA's secret weapon that ended the cold war and BROKE UP the USSR was Taylor Swift, who was born in 1989. The truth is now out. You're welcome.
The first "white Christmas" occurred during break, seeing 4-5 days of morning snow in total. Kieran Smullin became the first citizen to hit Mr. Rossi with a snowball. They were both at Cedar Links park enjoying the snow with their families. Shortly after, Parker Bolin of 2018/2019 also hit Mr. Rossi with one moments later.
Pack-Man suffered a fatal zipper accident before the break and was not able to recover. She was replaced by a new lunch bag, MIER I. We also lost Rainbow due to an infection.
On 1/10/22, Vice Presidente Ford took over the afternoons! By 2pm, citizens were chanting "Fordville!" and chanted Mr. Rossi right out of the room. With nowhere to go, Mr. Rossi wondered about the school without a permanent home... basically like a nomad... a Mr. Nomad.
Unemployment reached 27%, surpassing the Not-So-Great Depression of 2015-2016 (23%). The "Complacency Crisis" is considered worse by some economists since the Nation only had 22 potential workers during this peak. For the first time ever, the Nation had no Law Enforcement, Media Tech, Storekeeper/Zookeeper, two official Lunch Directors, and an operating stock market. Rossiville ONLINE (Google Sites) even got shut down by MSD for ALL schools due partly to improper use in Rossiville. Sites would be reopened in February, along with the return of Rossiville's critical jobs.
Vice Presidente Ford took over the Nation on January 10, 2022 in the afternoons. Mr. Rossi spent much of his time that first week gardening and walking around Lone Pine. He pondered becoming a simple, humble farmer, so he set sail for Maui (Hawaii) the next week to give Ms. Ford some space. Sadly, he got shipwrecked and the State of Hawaii shipped him back to Oregon. The next week he would find himself quarantined with his family at home, so by January 25th, Ms. Ford led Rossiville (ugh, ugh... "Fordsville") for several full days!
Mayor Bowen Tacchini was elected officially on January 31, 2022, but for the first time ever, the Mayor-elect WASN'T THERE! He ended up arriving the next day with a warm "tunnel" welcome from the citizens!
The longest Friday Folder delivery occurred on 2/18/22 when Courier Peyton Pruitt delivered Kaydence's FF to her in Brookings, Oregon! That's determination!
We got to experience 2/2/22 and 2/22/22 (a TUESDAY!) at school. A unique experience that will never happen again in Rossiville. We missed the opportunity to call it the year of the two-two!
Bracelet Besties was sued by Rossi Nation for failure to pay their advertising expenses to Il Presidente for mentioning their name all the time. In court, they were found guilty and later settled out of court. Citizen Sydney Ruth would later buy out her partner Peyton Pruitt and get sole ownership.
On 2/24/22, Dr. Douglas attended the 4th Annual Southern Oregon Black Youth Leadership Summit, a workshop-based conference highlighting the strengths, uniqueness, and creativity of the Black/African American student experience. He was the first citizen of Rossi Nation to attend!
Citizens of Rossiville, in a first, engineered their own board games and challenged each other! Then, while playing, they redesigned the games to make them better!
On 3/7/22 a Bill Battle/Coin War began at Lone Pine! Rossiville citizens voted on attacking early on with a "warning shot" to Mrs. Jones' 6th graders. Mrs. Behke's 5th/6th would find themselves stuck in the middle. Two of her 5th grade citizens went rogue (Rogue Sam and Savannah of Behnkeberg - RSS!!!) and broke a verbal peace agreement.
On 3/9, an Alliance with Giddings Nation, Perkins Island and Tollefson National Park began. Shortly after, a ceasefire was announced with Behnkeberg, but their work VISA-holding citizens were sanctioned for a week. Martinville of 5th grade would join the Rossi Alliance.
On 3/16/22, the unthinkable happened! Mrs. Jones sent a huge wave of fighters with $33 and they sprinkled glitter all over Rossiville, injuring Larry (the Snake), Mr. Money Bags, and KinPump. All affected had to get a bath, including the coins, and Mr. Money Bags had to get a face transplant.
A massive response was organized by the Alliance on 3/18/22 and, in a first, Rossiville decided to lock our gates and prevented the Jones Army from entering with their measly dollar. The Rossiville Accounting Department worked overtime counting all the funds. Since the Nation voted to go for the most points, lots of coins came in! We ended with a total of $135, a record!
On 3/10/22, celebrities Flubber Jr. and CocoFace appeared! They live above the sciences board by the Capitol building.
On 3/13/22, Lone Pine had the Color Dash run to raise funds for an improved track. Mayor Bowen and his brother, citizen Vince Tacchini of 2019/2020, were featured in a promo video for the event! Several citizens were there for the event, and Mayor Bowen was completely covered in green. Mr. Rossi was attacked by several citizens from various grades and was escorted out of danger by Citizen Dannie Vanburen.
March 14, 2022 marked a new Rossiville National Holiday - Mask-Free Monday. With COVID-19 numbers under control, we were able to have the option to go maskless. The citizens also voted to make masks free at LaClinica Rossiville. Faces were seen again inside for the first time in two years!
That same day we saw the return of Gray-the-Cart! He was hastily taken away from us by MSD in 2020.
Finally, a district of Rossiville got a makeover on this day, too! What used to be a couple of dog beds under the Gobel Heights Tower I, a new pillow zone came to be. It consisted of six queen-sized pillows and zippable bags. Dalton Wells was the first to use this zone. It was promptly named the "Karl Comfort Complex" by the citizens!
On 3/17/22, Rossiville celebrated St. Patrick's Day for the FIRST TIME! Thanks to Citizen Kinlee Pershin, who asked Mr. Rossi on 3/14/22 if we'd do anything, Mr. Rossi scrambled together some activities. Thanks to Rossi Town and Mrs. Rossi for the Lucky Challenge! Citizens were Bean Boozled for the first time in our history - very nasty flavors!
With Dalton Wells becoming the 32nd Mayor, for the first time ever, three boys were elected in a row! Mayor Wells also became the first Mayor representing the Umpqua Group.
Wagon 2 became the first wagon on the Oregon Trail to "Rick Roll" the pioneers of the trail during their sacred campfire tales. It started a new tradition of adding songs to the campfire tales that add to their entertainment!
On Earth Day - 4/22/22 - we celebrated Fred's birthday. But Mayor Bowen Tacchini made a bold recommendation... that we bury the pencils in the cemetery in Fred's sacred homeland. This starts a new tradition! Dr. Smullin was not happy about "polluting" on Earth Day, but citizens largely believe it was justified.
Mr. Rossi had to bolt from the Fun Run (Timmy Time!) to protect the Nation from a possible plot by Sabrah Fredrickson. He dressed up as Bigfoot, hiked a mile into the woods, and intercepted her at outdoor school! Sadly, he was apprehended by the 6th graders and returned to civilization.
For the first time ever, not ONE pioneer made it to Oregon City uninjured or dead.
The second Mayor of Rossiville, Ellie Perkins, became the FIRST to graduate from High School! She was also the only Mayor not to wear the famous grad gown for her Mayor photo... weird coincidence?! I think not! Not to be outdone, Hailey Gray (one from the Founders' Club), who wanted badly to be mayor, ALSO graduated early!
Jackson Navarette's paper airplane dubbed "The Sweeper" goes a record 54.5 feet with favorable winds!
Rossiville scores a record eight runs against Brown Town, but was not able to beat her amazing squad. For the first time, the team arrived to play with the sprinklers on! Rossiville made the finals (Silver Cup) and got second.
Mr. Nomad only substituted TWICE this year due to threats. Because of a lovely video from Mayor Dalton (and others pleading for him to return), Mr. Nomad made an appearance for a Q & A. The class even bowed to him and gave him offerings!
Doctor Kinlee Pershin went above and beyond as a doctor. She was the first to provide therapy sessions, major surgeries, animal care, and care for newborns!
We had our first animal/plant species discovery challenge. The Mega Monk by Austin Lloyd won the land habitat category; Jell-E by Harmony Orr won in water; Fluf by Dalton Wells won air.
Scarelt Beard is the second citizen ever to receive perfect attendance!
Nation begins the year virtually for the first time. Citizens remained quarantined outside Rossi Nation's borders.
Hudson Carr becomes the second citizen of Rossiville to have experienced life in Rossi Town with Mrs. Rossi in second grade, following Autumn Barnes of 2014/2015. However, Hudson experienced a full year in Rossi Town, while Autumn did not. This makes Hudson the longest active citizen of Rossi Nation in history!
On September 8, 2020, Savannah Williard takes over as host of our Zoom session, leaving Il Presidente begging to have her grant him access as host again.
Tragedy strikes the Rogue Valley on September 8, 2020 - the first day of school! - when the Almeda Fire destroys parts of Ashland, Talent, and Phoenix, as well as the South Obenchain Fire destroying areas near Eagle Point, Oregon. The fire began around 11 am during our lunch break, and smoke could be seen outside Rossiville within hours. Classes were canceled for the week, and school resumed on September 14, 2020.
Brennen Sills moves out of Rossiville after two short Zoom days! This is the shortest time in Rossiville by any resident in history, beating the previous record of three weeks set by Olivia Meeds of 2015/2016.
Mr. Rossi finishes his coffee before arriving at school for the first time ever! This would happen another 23 times that year.
A record THREE SETS of cousins reside in Rossiville for the first time: Aubrey O'Brien and Destry Knox (first cousins); Savannah Williard and Zach Hisamoto (second cousins); Jude Bier and McKenna Wisdom (second cousins).
For the first time since 9/6/2019, a citizen loses TWO teeth in one day! Unlike Caroline Rumrey (2019/2020), Cecelia McQuary lost two right next to each other at the same time!
The first online "arrow chant" was done on Zoom as a nation!
The Rossiville estate tax remained at 98% in a national vote, however, inheritance from cousins was added as a citizen benefit. Cousin inheritance comes with an estate tax of 99%. Added to the new law is a provision that no citizen shall incur any portion of their siblings' or cousins' debts.
New jobs added this year included Sit-Down Comedian and Artist, which birthed the new Comedy Club and Fine Art gallery on Rossiville Online. Another addition was the Ambassador Program. In this program, citizens can perform community service outside of Rossiville for monetary benefit and Academy credits. Citizens just need to show proof and complete a form.
Destry Knox's brother, 7-years-old, already got ticketed 200 Rupees for dabbing, even before obtaining citizenship! Ouch!
Avery Gail becoming Mayor sets a new record, as girls take the Mayor role four times in a row! She would go on to take the name Avery "the Great."
Ryder Mattern wins the National Flag tournament done virtually. A very awesome flag, indeed!
On 10/30/20, four citizens of Rossiville, in addition to two citizens of Johnsonshire, stepped foot on Lone Pine soil again to learn. The meeting took place in Room 14... a barren land between Rossi Nation and Tollefson National Park. The meetings would grow to six citizens of Rossi Nation.
A major change to the laws surrounding monthly computer program bonuses was debated on November 2, 2020. For MobyMax, citizens can now earn one Rupee for every two minutes of work. For iReady, every lesson completed now earns 10 Rupees, however, the total is multiplied by the passing percentage of the lessons. Both program bonuses max out at 125 Rupees, but top-three leaders can still earn the 50, 40, and 30 additional bonuses!
On November 5, 2020, the Nation voted with a vote of 20-6 to finally pay the Rossiville News Journalists for their work! (G's... why did it take that long?!) Il Presidente again vetoed the efforts to make the newspaper free for all. The price remains at 1 Rupee!
Shain was shamed for the first time virtually.
On November 30, 2020, DuoLingo and Typing Club points begin being awarded for all participants in the form of Rupees... with a catch! Those Rupees are now deposited into the Rossiville Stock Exchange through the new 401(R) program. Due to this change, ALL withdrawals from the Stocks before Spring Break now get taxed 20% as an early withdrawal fee. The tax of 20% on all gains at the end of the year, however, will not be assessed on 401(R) funds.
On December 1, 2020, Graham Zimmer becomes the first citizen to attend class live - ON THE MOVE - in a car. This guy broke his toe and still showed up! That's dedication.
This year we saw other unusual ways to attend. Landon Castillo attended from an airport in Seattle and Colorado. Andrea Kretzschmar attended from Idaho for two weeks! Destry Knox and Aubrey O'Brien, first cousins, often attended side-by-side, even sharing the same computer at times! In late April, Tinsley Gugliotta would end up attending from Florida, even after in-person learning restarted, resulting in a fun video moment!
Kara Starcher becomes the first citizen to fall asleep during Zoom class during our read-aloud of Hank Zipzer. Maybe she thought the book was called Niagra Falls Asleep?! Don't worry... she redeemed herself. She was the only one to pay attention to the deadline for the Substance Abuse Prevention Poster Art Contest. Her art earned her $50 in Amazon money!
The first-ever Patty-Cake took place between Il Presidente and Cil McQuary on 1/8/21 on Zoom. It was glorious.
For the first time ever, Il Presidente started wearing blue-light glasses. His eyes never felt better after a long day on Zoom!
For Graham's birthday on 1/11, Mr. Rossi added a new student for him... Tinsley "Tinseltown" Gugliotta! A day later she would meet Mr. Nomad!
Ironically, Tinsley and Graham would both end up becoming proponents of the classic "Pea Shooter" inside joke that came from our read-aloud, Hattie Campbell. They would write about it for spelling homework, which Mr. Rossi promptly ripped into pieces (as seen in the physical history book).
Two citizens in the same year share a birthday for the first time! Aubrey O'Brien and Harlow Grant both turned 10 on January 17, 2021. Who was born earlier in the day?! Aubrey!
During Christmas break, citizens were challenged to write the official Rossiville Pledge of Allegiance after years and years of requests. After weeks of considering the submissions, Il Presidente officially put up a vote between the top two of his choice. Past citizens on Instagram also chimed in with their input. Destry Knox's work prevailed and was presented officially on January 20, 2021. The other masterpiece, written by Zachariah Hisamotto, will remain in Rossiville history forever, as it too captures the essence of the allegiance to our dear Nation. Here it is:
I pledge to Rossiville,
no matter my strength;
I will follow my leader
to the heart of the saint, (x2)
I will never astray.
For I am Rossiville,
and Rossiville am I.
Capri Curtis's basketball team faced off against Hudson Carr, Graham Zimmer, and Vincent Daffron's team in a first of its kind, historical meeting outside of Rossiville.
On January 25, 2021, Rossiville took an initial vote to decide which Pledge song to go with. Mr. Rossi PUNKED (See Rossiville Prime Video) the class by playing a fake one and laughing at the reactions. The next day, again, Mr. Rossi PUNKED the class into thinking that he threw out the good ones and was going to make the citizens sing the silly one in front Lone Pine. Later, the Nation voted in the version dubbed the "Pioneer Hokie Pokie," which beat out the "Slow Bass / Phat Beat" version.
The longest-serving red pen in our history ran out of ink, leaving the Nation in mourning. After a salute and moment of silence, the class took part in a touching tribute led by Kara Starcher and others.
The pledge video was recorded on February 2, 2021. What a treat after doing the iReady Math test ALL morning!
On 2/18/21, Rossiville watched the Mars Perseverence Rover land live on Zoom together! It was a joyous occasion and we happened to be learning about meters and kilometers the same week, which were terms we saw and heard a lot as it was landing.
You ever heard someone say, "It doesn't hurt to ask!"? Well, Graham Zimmer asked, and Il Presidente agreed... to play Alvin and the Chipmunks music voluntarily on 2/19/21. This is the first time in Rossiville history, breaking one of the oldest laws in our constitution. Did it hurt to ask? Well, it depends on who you ask. Il Presidente's ears sure got hurt that day.
On 2/22/21, a new tradition officially began for Mayors - an official title to their name! Mayor Avery "The Great" had that title all, year, but then we realized that all mayors should have a special title. Mayor Paxton Fox on this day became Paxton "The Prepared". Later in the year, citizens would celebrate Destry "The Determined" and Tenlee "The Terrific!"
Rossiville made the news for the second time. The DoveTV network did a segment on our Pledge of Allegiance video and our experience with Zoom.
Hybrid classes officially started on February 25th and 26th 2021, splitting Rossiville into two groups of 14. Lots of other history occurred during these two days. 1) At 12:15 pm, we started to endure the latest lunchtime in our history! 2) We also shared two music teachers depending on the week. 3) Citizens' houses remained in the digital world, while in-person they stayed in a hotel room at one of the six hotel chains! 4) Flubber (Rainbow) Jr. was born and welcomed into Rossiville. He was donated by Elliot Hermant.
Two insane things occurred on 2/26/21. First, Il Presidente ran like a wild man across the gym while citizens were kicking soccer balls at him. While running and putting up his hands to defend himself from Mckenna Wisdom and Maylee Olson's ball, Brock Lauerman and Azalea Owen's ball landed in his hands! It will forever be known as "The Catch"!
Not much later, at 11:55 am, Il Presidente slapped a meter stick on the ground and it shattered in two! Citizens chanted "Shain On You!" while he took the "Walk of Shain." This was the stick broken two years ago by a citizen who will not be named. Amazingly, the "framing frame" fell this same week and shattered as well. Both were recovered with glue.
Cohort A and B battled an army of "anti-Flubbers" in the gym with sticks for a full 30 minutes! Il Presidente was hit a couple of times by some citizens' sticks. Flubber was proud.
Mr. Rossi slapped a meter stick into the ground, breaking it into two! Later that month, the class crime frame would end up falling and shattering into pieces.
Cohort A turned into robots while learning the word "chorused". It was scary. Not long after, the same group of kids became a skipping record during Geometry time just at the "right" time!
On March 29, 2021, Rossiville returned to a nearly normal look, with citizens returning to their own homes instead of hotels.
Tragedy struck on March 30, 2021. Bug Lady IX arrived in Rossiville, only to be crushed not even 30 seconds after arriving. A memorial was conducted immediately.
April Fools 2021... wow. Mr. Rossi says, "Ready? Begin!" for quick facts. Moments later, a ringtone is blaring in garage #8 with what song? "Big Poppa" by The Notorious B.I.G. Tears of laughter were plentiful that morning.
Days before April 1st, Jamie the Spider look-alikes began showing up in Rossiville, followed by bats! It was determined by Rossi Nation investigators that their source was Tollefson National Park. The chaos resulted in many citizens needing to pay exterminators, as well as the closure of our recycling facilities. Therefore, some of our pollutants ended up in their National Park. Frannie Wave became very sick but was saved by Dr. Kara Starcher. Mayor Destry Knox and officers Mattern and Wisdom delivered an official apology letter for all the trouble.
Mayor Destry becomes the first Mayor to break a bone, which was his right wrist. It happened to be on 3/14, or Pi Day! Within the same month, Mayor Paxton sprained his right wrist! Mayor Tenlee would end up being sick for a week, leading to our second ever substitute Mayor, Capri Curtis, for four total days - a record. When Capri called in sick during that span, Tinsley Gugliotta became the first substitute of the substitute Mayor for one day.
On 4/7/21, Landon Castillo's fish (The Fish Without-A-Name) got the best memorial ever! Rossiville watched it get flushed live on Zoom while playing the wacky version of our Pledge. Moments later, Harlow Grant became the first resident of Rossiville to drink out of a Guinea Pig bottle.
On April 13, 2021, Rossiville and TNP had a ceremony to agree to a stronger relationship with a renewed focus on recycling and conservation. Rossiville's lone waterfall was named Tollefson Falls and the city was designated as a historic/national monument by TNP's regulators! TNP dedicated their lone waterfall to us - Rossiville Falls.
Mckenna Wisdom's 10th birthday was on 4/16/21 and Mr. Rossi did not play a birthday video, opting to just sing "Tanti auguri!" instead. The Nation was offended. Mayor Tenlee Gobel instantly passed a law that all citizens are entitled to a birthday video.
Rob the Rubber-Band-Ball joined Rossiville. He was slowly created by Destry Knox during COVID-19. He was embraced by the citizens and even got to make an appearance at the kickball tournament! He later would be joined by his sidekick Pandemic Pete, created by Graham Zimmer.
On 4/21/21, Bug Lady X nearly drown in the newly installed pool, but Dr. Harlow Grant saved him!
Meribella Yanez-Canton (Citizen 31) joined Rossiville on May 3, 2021, the latest of any citizen to join in history! A flood like no other would occur that very morning as Mr. Rossi was greeting her, when Graham Zimmer's water bottle opened up from cubby 9 and spilled into cubby 19 (Meela Lopez) and 29 (Jude Bier). Ironically, the next day, Meela's water bottle would do the exact same thing, and flood cubby 29. Any coincidence that Jude Bier would become the first citizen to leave Rossiville TWICE during one school year?!
Avery "the Great" took Mr. Rossi's shoe. It was a risky step to take ;)
For the first time, NO TWINS were born on the Oregon Trail. A record-tying seven students were sole survivors.
Destry Knox started the idea of a pulley system attached to the door. It went through many phases of construction before its current form. It was initially for reminding students to sanitize by flashing a sign in their faces. The original string actually sawed a hole into the plastic GlockMallow. At one point, it was a monster!
Juli Rizo came up with the idea to have a Kinpump Rupee bill - ON THE WAY TO AFTER SCHOOL PICKUP! Citizens from prior years heard the news on the move and suggested things. 31 Rupees became the denomination because of Halloween. It's not his favorite holiday, but oh well! The bill was presented on 5/25/2021. Another bill recommended by Paxton Fox was the 0 bill, commemorating the "unknown student."

Rossiville buried the living mascot of our Fun Run / Kickball team name "Nocturnal Potatoes." His name was Rooty. A ceremony ensued, and Kara Starcher literally got all choked up. Vincent becomes the first citizen with a V name (and to be born in Wisconsin!). That leaves only F, I, U, X and Y as the last remaining unused first-name letters. The second fly swatted that week was named "Time Flies the Second", and is kept with Tick Tock.

The 1 was dedicated to Penny the Pencil; 5 to Monkey-without-a-name; 10 to Box-Top Bob; 20 to Betsy Cheddarswiss; 50 to Fred Sour; 100 to Kennedy; and 500 to Il Presidente. The 500 was quickly vetoed, and only six were ever printed!

On January 22, 2020, The Sweet Store's defense lawyer, Bryson West, was inspecting a stress ball from the court's evidence when it blew up on him as well! Then on the second to last day of school, Mayor Analise Esparza was absent and Kindyn Higley filled in for the day and was the first temporary mayor to lead an auction!
Mayor Josh Bartalini is the only known citizen to try to start a coup against Il Presidente Rossi. Hailey Rosamond, Campbell Allred and Jackson Muffler lost by one point to Brown Town and were without their teammate Andrew Youssef!
A strange Mayor pattern was discovered by Josh Bartalini... The first mayor was Campbell Allred (9), then Gia Rutigliano (13) then Josh Bartalini (17)... all went up by four, which is the number of mayors per year. When it was time to choose the fourth mayor, we asked, who's 21? It was Madolyn Franklin, who never showed up! No one else was around to witness this one.
On March 1, 2018, Javan's third miracle occurred when he predicted the future. As Mr. Rossi was about to announce a new student, Rilee (Schwaner), Javan said to Riley Gray that the new student would be a boy by this name! Several students witnessed this, so when announced, many citizens went crazy.

Mr. Rossi would stand outside and stand guard, waiting for his arrival. He would normally address him with "So we meet again, Ol 'Murr! Where's a trash can when you need one?!?" The last part referred to the fact that Colsten was a custodian, and would forget to bring the garbage can from the front door to the Array Office in the morning.
A rare uprising occurred on January 18, 2018 when several citizens were ticketed by the RPD for not wiping their feet at the door. The effort to crack down on messy floors was driven by Colsten Staller and Carter Pyles, who teamed up with the RPD to write names of those who did not wipe their feet upon arriving into Rossiville, even if their shoes were very clean. This was the first case of the RPD setting up a "trap" in order to promote a law.

Mr. Rossi walked Kaisen over near Laine and was asking him why his brother no longer came by to sell him his favorite chocolate, mint chip cookies! Laine and the rest of his group was furious by the hypocrisy of Mr. Rossi's comments. A revolt was started. Bowing to the pressure of the possibility of a larger uprising, Mr. Rossi bought a box from Laine on April 5, 2018. They were delicious.

We will also never forget the kindergartener girl that made the entire class erupt in laughter as we lined up for that drill because of her wacky dance. What a day that was.

On April 27, 2017, citizens were returning from Oregon Caves on Rossiville Bus Lines and decided to open some windows to smell the fresh air of the mountains. Not five minutes went by before a semi-truck carrying manure passed us, causing the whole bus to smell like, well, you know!

The largest auction purchase to date occurred when Mayor Dominic Daffron purchased a gold fidget spinner for 3,000 Rupees (even though it had a broken bearing shield). Mark Silva becomes the oldest active citizen of Rossiville!
Two citizens break the record for the youngest citizen ever, with a birthday of August 21st: Madilyn Fanelli and Erika George. Sharing a birthday is cool! This was the first year that two students shared a birthday, and it happened twice! Alexis Payton and Addie Wood (April 18th).
GoNoodle gets used for the first time as a brain-break activity during math time. This took over Adventure to Fitness, which pulled itself from YouTube (boo!). It ended up being a success. The first class character to be adopted was Blob Ross, followed by McPufferson, Bart Reynolds and Flo Yo.

The dance move called the "Dab" came into the scene, and became a fad that lasted well into 2018. The class even did a group picture doing this move. It wasn't until 2017 that the dance move was made illegal in Rossiville due to its history and roots.

The first mayor of Rossiville, Rounak Kafle, was the son of immigrants from Nepal. Coincidentally, the currency of Nepal is the Rupee. He and Tristan Cardenas were the first dual citizens of Rossiville, other than Mr. Rossi himself (Nepal, Italy and Italy).
Rounak was also the first citizen to be hit by an object by Mr. Rossi during PE. During Dodgeball, Rounak was crossing the court at the wrong place and wrong time when Mr. Rossi threw a bullet across the gym. They removed us from their calendar and never told El Presidente! Citizens returned to school and enjoyed a nice Pizza Party from Little Caesars instead, thanks to our beloved room parent, Sunni West (mother of Whitney West - 2014/2015 and Mayor Macy West - 2016/2017).
The second ever Rossiville field trip was a near disaster, when the nation's school bus broke down on a pass heading to Oregon Caves. The nation's people were able to catch a ride (three to a seat) with Tegtman Town on their bus. Whew!
The first water pour during the Distraction Game occurred in 2014 as an improv move to get the class to lose. Since the first ever Rossiville class was so good at the game, El Presidente had no choice but to do the unthinkable. Aidan Beckstead was nearby when he had the epiphany. It was maybe only a capful of water, but the citizens couldn't believe the lengths El Presidente took that day to win the game.
