Our curriculum is ever-evolving to ensure students are exposed to authentic, current, and relevant resources. It focuses on the 5Cs as displayed to the left - communities, comparisons, connections, cultures, & communication. In class, we include activities addressing all three modes of communication - interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational.

Each of these modes are also assessed throughout each of the six units. Interpersonal is most often a speaking assessment for which students will be provided a prompt related to the current unit of study and must have an interpersonal conversation with their partner. Interpretive assessments vary between listening & reading utilizing authentic resources. Presentational will be speaking or writing for which students will have time to prepare and polish their work and/or be able to utilize their resources from class to complete the task. For the evaluation of each mode of communication, we follow the ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language) proficiency standards & guidelines.
