Begin by exploring different topics and ideas. What are you curious about? What interests you? Choose a subject that excites you and is relevant to your life.
Develop a clear plan for your project. What are your goals? What steps will you take to achieve them? Consider resources, timelines, and potential challenges.
Define a clear learning goal and a clear product/outcome for your project.
Develop specific success criteria. How will you know you succeeded, both with your learning goal and your product?
This is where you bring your project to life! Implement your plan, create your project, and document your progress along the way. Don't be afraid to be creative and try new things.
Be mindful of the ATL skills you are using--remember to make them visible!Â
Keep your ATL skills handout and journal with you while you are taking action to document your process and progress on your project.
Remember--this project will not always go the way you planned. Part of the process is to demonstrate how you react to set-backs or changes.
Evaluate your product based on the success criteria you created in the planning stage of the project. Be honest. If something did not work out the way you planned, explain why and how you reacted to that setback or change in the overall plan.
Reflect on the ATL skills you used throughout your journey. What did you learn? How did you grow? What specific skills did you use? How did they help you to achieve your goals? Give specific examples.
Evaluate both your successes and challenges. This self-reflection is a crucial part of the process.
