The IB Learner Profile

The IB Learner Profile describes a broad range of human capacities and responsibilities that go beyond academic success. They imply a commitment to help all members of the school community learn to respect themselves, others, and the world around them (MYP: From Principles to Practice). At Millard North High School, students connect the Learner Profile traits to their every day lives both inside and outside of the classroom.

For example, the Service as Action component of the IB-MYP helps students to bring the Learner Profile traits to life through various opportunities to serve their community. The Personal Project requires  students to utilize and develop their Learner Profile Traits through planning, executing, and reflecting upon a long-term learning goal and outcome of their choosing. At Millard North High School, we encourage each student to achieve their highest potential by facilitating growth through the Learner Profile.
