Principal Construction News

Dear Parents,

Construction and Office Relocation Notice

Construction at the front of the building will begin on March 17.

During this time, the main entry will be closed. All visitors will need to enter through the back of the building using the last door closest to the playground.

The office will be temporarily relocated to the back of the building near the playground. Clear signage will be posted to help direct you to the office location. The same doorbell system will be in place for entry.

There will be a few parking spaces next to the office door for quick pick up. This is limited time parking.

Once you enter the building, the office will be the first door on the left. Please enter there for all office needs.

The procedures for checking out students or volunteering in the building will remain the same; however, you will now enter through the back of the building.

All visitors must check in at the office upon arrival.

Arrival Procedures

Students will be dropped off near the playground and will wait behind the fence on the blacktop area. Supervising staff will bring students who are eating breakfast inside at 8:15 a.m. All other students will enter the building when the bell rings at 8:20 a.m.

For safety, please remind your children to use the sidewalks only and not walk through the parking lot. Watch the weather and have students with rain gear or coats.

There will be no sitting idle or blocking traffic in the parking lot. If you wish to wait in your car, you must park in a designated parking space. No red curb areas. You must have a handicapped sign in your car to park in handicapped areas. The drop-off line will continue moving, so please have your children ready to exit the vehicle immediately with all belongings, including coats and lunch boxes, and say goodbyes before reaching the drop-off point.

If you would like to walk your child to the arrival area or need extra time for any reason, please park in a parking space and walk them up.

Dismissal Procedures

To support a safe and efficient dismissal process, students and staff will exit through designated doors and walk to the front of the building using the sidewalks. Due to limited space, dismissal will take place at the front of the building, shifting slightly south of our regular gathering area.

We will use a staggered dismissal schedule:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: Walkers will be dismissed at 3:25 p.m. adding them to Kindergarten, buses, daycare vans and Spark.
Wednesdays: Walkers will be dismissed at 2:25 p.m.

Note: If you would like to park in the neighborhood and have your child walk to your vehicle, you may sign your child up as a walker (early dismissal). Parents may choose this option to allow students to walk to a designated location in the neighborhood to meet your car beginning at 3:25 p.m. (2:25 p.m. on Wednesdays). The sign up link will be coming soon to your email. Please sign up your child on this link.

Thank you for your support of the Spring Book Fair in the library! Your purchases help us to get new books in the library, as well as Makerspace items for all students to enjoy. We appreciate you!

This next week, we will be wrapping up our One School, One Book event with some activities in the library. Students will also be entered into a drawing to win a prize during their library time. A small number of students from each class will be drawn.
