District Information

A Message from Superintendent Mark Maire

The Morris Plains School District enjoys a reputation for excellence among the many outstanding school districts in Morris County. Our district serves approximately 650 students in Mountain Way Elementary School (Pre-K-2)and Borough School (3-8). In the words of our Vision Statement, we are committed in preparing all learners to excel in a changing world. This requires a sharp focus on academic achievement, professional development, instructional resources, school safety, communication, and an eye toward supporting students' social and emotional growth.

Students in public school for grades 9-12 attend Morristown High School, as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Morris School District; which also serves the communities of Morristown and Morris Township (for grades K-12)

Morris Plains Schools deliver a high quality education focusing on maximizing the potential of every learner. We are committed to providing a learning environment that engages the students and meets their individual needs. The district has a long and proud tradition that provides our students the opportunity to excel in academics, participate in various co-curricular activities, pursue the arts, or join an athletic team.

Our success with student performance on state and national assessments is due to the dedicated efforts of our teachers, support staff, and administrators. We provide an extensive professional development plan that equips our staff with innovative instructional practices.

Our website seeks to create open avenues of communication for our parents and the Morris Plains School community. As we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information, please feel free to contact us about how we can improve our website to better serve your information needs.

Sincerely,

Mark Maire
