Graduation is a time to celebrate seniors and their accomplishments. At Red Mountain we like to celebrate this bittersweet achievement with a firework show. Every year, Student Council purchases fireworks to continue the tradition of celebrating and supporting our seniors. You can see the paperwork for the PO, here:
We like to think that Red Mountain is known for being the loudest high school in the state. Our students show off their school spirit with something we call hype sections! This is one of our favorite traditions. We started it a few years ago and it really caught on. Student council creates signs and uses caution tape at the top of the stands for the most hype students. We aim to build an environment where all students will not be afraid to participate. In these photos, you can see our students stand at the top, screaming loudly!
Elections! Every year during the first quarter of the new school year, an election is held to determine who will hold positions for that given year. Our school always strives to hold a fair election that includes the entire school. This is our ballot from this year's election!
At the end of every year, Red Mountain hosts a Senior Scholarship Award Ceremony to recognize and congratulate our leaving seniors. This night is the biggest parent night of the year for RMHS. Parents are able to witness the accomplishments of their graduating students. 90% of those in attendance are parents and community members. The ceremony was MC’d by our former President Blake McAvoy and Vice President Abe Tonioli. Student council also ushered parents to their seats and helped hand out awards.
