Since Red Mountain has the biggest homecoming in the state we have to have make our assemblies huge and hype! Our Homecoming assembly has the feeling of the Mountain Lion King to match our spirit week. In order to accommodate for our 3,600 students, we put on two massive assemblies. This year we have created a new tradition in using a paper mountain that represents our local Red Mountain. The mountain represents our teamwork and coming together to make a big project complete. To top our amazing assembly, we ended with a trio of performing arts that performed “The Circle of Life” from the Lion King. Their performance truly represented how great all aspects of our school is, making it the cherry on top of our assembly!

Here at Red Mountain, we care about the involvement of parents. This is why we participate in a monthly School Improvement Advisory Committee (SIAC) meeting where parents and students come together to discuss ways we can improve our school. These are examples of the notes we take when we go.
To get hyped for homecoming 2019, our council spent over 2 weeks to plan and set up for the homecoming hall walls, which are decorations in the main building that match our theme: Mountain Lion King. We had 56 Stud Co members divide into teams, all working their hardest in an attempt to make this Homecoming hall walls the best they have ever been. We offered time during class and lunch, and often additional time after school to make sure all of Red Mountain loved the decorations and got excited for the dance.
We want every student to feel included and loved! On August 16th we ate lunch with the Mountain Movers (the special needs group at our school). During our lunch we interacted with the students and had a great pizza/ dance party! This is always one of our favorite days and we always look forward to the lunch!
