• Believe that students can achieve at a high level

• Cultural and Emotional Responsiveness

• Consistency and predictability

• High expectations 

• Minimum of (1) 1:1 meetings with Administration

• Wear MPS ID

• Stop and greet any unescorted non-student / non-employee

• Up to date Seating Charts

• Up to date Sub Plans

• Ongoing, documented contacts home to all students earning a Failing grade (F) (Consider Google Voice)

• Escort and supervise any guests you bring to the building

• Notify an administrator when late/absent

• Implement/follow staff/student handbook

• Engage in collegial and courageous conversations

Absolute NO 

• Talking with kids about adults

• Sarcasm with kids

• Swearing in the presence of kids

• Ordering/purchasing things without prior admin approval

• Limiting beliefs and statements about kids (ie “None of you are going to college”)

• Awarding a Failing grade (F) without documented attempts at parent communication

• Social Media friending and posting of students

• Lack of boundaries with students (ie, giving rides, being physically playful)

• Failure to follow student expectations (ie, cell phones and dress codes) 

Absolute With Admin Approval 

• All fieldtrips (1-month in advance)

• Taking kids from the building

• Ordering, purchasing, contracts

• Selling food, beverages, candy

• Surveys of students or staff

• Students eating food in the classroom
