Program Description
Programming for students on the autism spectrum is focused on evidenced based practices and provided in general education and special education classrooms. Special education instruction for students on the autism spectrum may include general accommodations, or may emphasize functional academics in daily and independent living, communication, community participation, recreational and leisure, work and work-related skill development to give students the ability to live as independently as possible in their lives as they move through and beyond PreK-12+ education. Inclusivity is based on student strengths, interests, abilities, and modified outcomes and grading will be determined at each student’s IEP meeting on an annual basis. Middle and high school students who receive special education services will have increased opportunities to participate in transition services in community environments and job training sites based on post secondary goals determined by the IEP team.
