The Emotional and Behavioral (EB) program at South High School supports students who benefit from extra guidance in building self-regulation, self-advocacy, and self-awareness skills. Each student receives individualized instruction from a licensed Special Education Teacher, along with caring support from Special Education Assistants who help students succeed throughout the day.
Students in the EB program spend most of their school day in a supportive environment where they take their core classes—English, Math, Science, and Social Studies—with teachers who understand their unique learning styles. They also take social-emotional and self-regulation classes that help them strengthen essential life and relationship skills.
In addition, students participate in general education electives alongside their peers, giving them opportunities to connect, explore interests, and be part of the larger school community. Class sizes in the EB program are smaller, allowing for individualized attention, flexible pacing, and instruction that meets each student where they are.
At South, our EB team is dedicated to helping students build confidence, develop positive relationships, and gain the tools they need to thrive—both in the classroom and beyond.
