Health Overview

Every Student will be enrolled into Health Education at some point in their High School Career at North High. It is a requirement that your student completes one semester of Health Science. We believe that health education is a combined responsibility of school, community, and home. Our mission is to inspire our youth to become responsible for their overall wellness in the hope that they will choose healthy, lifestyle-enhancing behaviors both now and in the future. Your student must earn a passing grade in order to meet the Health Education requirement for high school graduation

Our health education curriculum is designed to help students understand that the decisions they make can affect the quality and quantity of their lives both now and in the future. The National Health Education Standards focus on essential life skills and these skills will be taught through the following health education themes; Personal Health and Fitness, Mental and Emotional Wellness, Nutritional Wellness, Drug, Tobacco, and Alcohol Prevention, Healthy Relationships, Human Growth and Development, CPR/First Aid/ AED Training, and Current trends in health.
