My name is Christina Nystrom. This is my first year at Jefferson Community School. I am originally from Fargo, North Dakota. This will be my 5th year as a teacher. I have spent the last 4 years at West Fargo Public Schools as a 3rd grade teacher.

I graduated from Valley City State University with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor's in Human Development and Family Science. I will graduate this December from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a Master's in Educational Leadership and my K-12 Principal's License. I am certified in math intervention and have spent the past few years completing and actively teaching anti-racist and equity curriculum.

Back in North Dakota, I have been an involved human rights activist and look forward to continuing that work here in Minneapolis.

My favorite thing about being a teacher is the connections I make with the kids. I believe relationships come first, and everything else comes second.

In my spare time I love to take walks with my dog Bella, read, volunteer at various organizations, and take naps!

I am very excited to be a part of the Jefferson Community!
