This is my 6th year at Jefferson. I have taught 6th grade math at Jefferson for the past five years and 5th grade math for the past two years. I love the creativity of mathematics and how so many ideas and concepts are connected.
This summer I have been reading and taking a class about how students learn to think about and understanding fractions and multiplication and I am excited to use my learning with students.
I live in Minneapolis with my partner and son. Usually I bike to school everyday, even in the winter. When I am at home I like to read, cook, and spend time with family.
I studied math and biology education at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Before coming to Jefferson I taught high school math at a Minneapolis Alternative School for five years. This past spring I finished my Master's of Arts in Education at Hamline University.
