Me encanta enseñar Kindergarten porque es un año lleno de crecimiento académico y personal.
Mi familia emigró a Minnesota cuando yo tenía cinco años y estoy orgullosa de ser bilingüe. Me esfuerzo por mostrarles a mis estudiantes que ser bilingüe es algo de lo que podemos estar orgullosos. Este será mi 12 año como maestra. Me gradué de la Universidad de St. Cloud, donde completé mi licenciatura en Educación Primaria. I love teaching Kindergarten because it is a year full of academic and personal growth.
My family immigrated to Minnesota when I was five years old and I am proud to be bilingual. I strive to show my students that being bilingual is something we can be proud of. This will be my 12th year as a teacher. I graduated from St. Cloud University, where I completed my BA in Elementary Education. I then completed my MA in Educational Leadership at Concordia University.

Información para aprendizaje a distancia durante cuarentena:
Los estudiantes en cuarentena pueden usar el enlace arriba para venir a la reunión matutina en Google Meet. Así pueden ver a los otros estudiantes y podemos saludarnos el uno al otro. Este enlace estará en el “inbox” de Seesaw también y pueden conectar usando su ipad. La primera vez que se conectan en un Google Meet, necesitarán su email y contraseña. Está en la hoja que mandé a casa con el código de Clever (QR code).

Trabajo en Seesaw
Para usar Seesaw, tienen que usar su cogido para entrar a Clever. En Clever, hagan clic en mi foto y después en Seesaw.
Cada día los estudiantes tendrán 4 trabajos en Seesaw. Los trabajos serán iguales cada día pero pueden variar según lo hagan. Por ejemplo, cada día pueden contar un objeto diferente y escuchar un cuento diferente.
Kids A-Z - Los estudiantes pueden escuchar y leer libros en español usando la app Kids A-Z.
Istation y Dreambox - Pueden usar las otras apps de aprendizaje si quieren entrando en Clever primero.

Information for Distance Learning during quarantine:
Students can use the link above to come to the morning meeting on Google Meet. They can see the other students and we can greet each other. This link will be in Seesaw's inbox as well and they can connect using their ipad. The first time they connect on a Google Meet, they will need their school email and password. It is on the sheet that I sent home with the Clever code (QR code).

2. Work in Seesaw

To get to Seesaw, they have to enter Clever using their code. In Clever, they click on my photo and then on Seesaw.
Each day students will have 4 jobs on Seesaw. The jobs will be the same every day but they can vary how they do them. For example, each day they can count different objects and listen to a different story.
3. Kids A-Z - Students can listen to and read books in Spanish using the Kids A-Z app.
4. Dreambox y Istation - They can use the other learning apps if they want entering Clever first.

¡Hola y bienvenidos a kínder! Me llamo Rachel Loayza y es mi séptimo año como maestra en Minneapolis Public Schools. Me alegra mucho ser parte de esta escuela. He sido maestra por más que una década y recibí mi maestría en Hamline University en inglés como segunda lengua. Aunque viví y enseñé en Tegucigalpa, Honduras por dos años, crecí en Minnesota y estoy disfrutando criar a mis hijos aquí. Mi esposo Miguel, quien es de Lima, Perú, y yo tenemos cuatro hijos: Benjamín (en sexto grado), Leah (en tercer grado), Gabriel (en segundo grado), y Nico (5). Leah y Gabriel asisten a Green y espero que Nico pueda el próximo año. Nos encanta explorar a Minnesota, trabajar en el jardín, comer comida peruana, tomar viajes a Perú y comprar en Costco. Mi hobby favorito es trabajar con mis plantas, dentro de mi casa y afuera en mi jardín.
Hello and welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Rachel Loayza and this is my seventh year as a teacher in Minneapolis Public Schools. I am very happy to be a part of Green Central Escuela Bilingüe this year. I have been teaching for more than 10 years, and have a Master’s degree from Hamline University in English as a second language. Although I spent two years living and teaching in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, I grew up in Minnesota and am enjoying raising my children here. My husband Miguel, who is from Lima, Perú, and I have four children: Benjamin (a 6th grader), Leah (a 3rd grader), Gabriel (a 2nd grader) and Nico (5). Leah and Gabriel attend Green and I hope Nico will next year. We like to explore Minnesota, work in the yard, eat Peruvian food, take trips to Perú and shop at Costco. My favorite hobby is working with my plants, inside my house and out in my garden.
