Marikina Polytechnic College (MPC) is dedicated to safeguarding the privacy and security of personal data collected from students, faculty, staff, applicants, visitors, and other stakeholders. Visitors and stakeholders may share names, contact details, CCTV footage (for security), and feedback for institutional improvement.
MPC employ various methods to collect data, including online forms, learning management systems, student information systems, and mobile applications. These tools gather data on student attendance, grades, course enrollments, and other academic and administrative information.
To ensure compliance with data privacy laws such as Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and other relevant laws. These policies for data access, usage, retention, and security. Electronic Storage: Data is stored in secure databases with encryption and access controls. For example, Holy Cross of Davao College employs up-to-date anti-malware and firewall protections and encrypts databases to safeguard electronic data.
Physical Storage: Paper documents are stored in secure vaults accessible only to authorized personnel.
Retention and Disposal: Data retention periods vary; for instance, ASSCAT retains data for five years before archiving and securely disposing of it.
These practices ensure compliance with data privacy laws and protect individuals' personal information from unauthorized access or misuse.
4. Purpose of Data Collection
Personal data is processed for legitimate purposes, including enrollment, academic processing, employment management, alumni relations, research, institutional development, security, emergency response, and compliance with government regulations.
MPC ensures that the processing of personal data complies with the condition for lawful processing thereof under the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
5. Data Sharing & Disclosure
MPC may share and disclose personal data only when necessary and with proper safeguards and such sharing or disclosure shall only be pursuant to a lawful purpose, and to authorized recipients of such data. Recipients may include government agencies (e.g., CHED, DepEd, TESDA) for compliance, partner institutions for academic collaborations, third-party service providers (under confidentiality agreements), and law enforcement agencies when legally required.

MPC implements strict security measures to protect personal data, including secure databases with restricted access, encryption, password protection, regular security audits, staff training, and secure disposal of records when no longer needed.
MPC will take steps to protect your personal data from authorized access and against unlawful processing, accidental or unlawful destruction, alteration, and disclosure as well as against any other unlawful processing.
In case of access of the site through the use of a password, the user is responsible for keeping the password confidential. The user is advised not to share the password with anyone.
Transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure and, although MPC will take steps to protect the user’s Personal Information, MPC does not guarantee the security of such transmission via the website
7. Retention and Destruction of Personal Data
Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill its intended purpose or as required by law. Once no longer needed, data is securely disposed of or anonymized to prevent further processing, unauthorized access, or disclosure to any other party.
