Do This

• Create a 128 by 128 pixel icon
• Create a unique, recognizable icon with color and design
• Make it relevant to your extension’s function when possible. For example: a notepad for a notes application. Avoid complex metaphor!
• Use simple and clear shapes to create your icon. Remember that your icon is going to be seen in different sizes. Make sure to choose shapes that will be easily recognizable at any size, even when very tiny.



Not this

• Don't use words in your icon design. A creative image or shape can tell a user more about your extension than text. Save explanatory text for your summary and description fields. Additionally, including words can cause translation issues if you want to publish your add-on in different locales.
• Don't use complex shapes or multiple shades and colors. They can become unrecognizable when scaled down.
• Please don't use a logo if its not your own. You may not use or include another entity's logo, even a modified version of it, in your extension's logo. For example, imagine you created an extension that blocks social media notifications on Facebook. You may not use a logo that includes the Facebook logo, such as Facebook's logo with an “X” over it.
