There are three types of myths the binary myth, the stereotype myth and the low empathy myth and they are saying how people are underrating math and making it look bad and using it to insult others. like the stereotype about race and who is smarter.Mistakes are good in math bacause then you can learn what you are doing wrong and liminiate the mistakes you made to get the right awnser. like in the triangle cut activity I faild but then I got Mr. Mike to show me how he did it.In my opinion I don't like math because I have a harder time onb it than mostpeople and I dont get it right away and somtimes I cant remember the stratagy and I want to get the awnser right quick always so i am at the same pace as my classmates. I think I can try to look forward to math and ask for help if I really need it but try to figure it out myself and try to find stratagies that will help me remember the method.
Quiz 1
The quiz covered rigid transformations like reflection, rotation, and translation. The grade I got for this was a meets because I used the stratagies and went slow to understood how to do the multiple step one. The goal I have for the next quiz Is to get a nother meets by studying hard and making my notes clear so I can get my notes.
In the quiz the topics covered were dilations, similarities and congruence. In the quiz I got a meets I think I got a meets because I got the questions to dialation and similarity correct. My goal for the next quiz is to work on congruence and read every question through, thoroughly , and using my notes more.
On the math poster I had to apply a series of rigid transformations and explain the definitions and the strategies to show how to solve them. some of the key concepts were translations, rotations, reflections, congruence, missing line angles, triangle inside angles, dialation , slope, triangles missing side lengths and similarities. On the poster I got a meets. I think I got a meets because I hit all the visuals and the key concepts on the checklist. I also applied one key concept to a real life situation. I alsoo showed colorful illustrations. My goal for the next math poster is to make it more colorful and thoughtful in illustrations and to make everything fit evenly so it's clearer to read.
In the test the topics it covered was congruence, measurement of angles, translations, missing inside angles of triangles, missing side lengths of triangles, similarity, slope and rigid transformations. The grade I got for the test was a meets I think I got it because I understood what congruency, missing angles, multiple step rigid transformations, missing inside angles of a triangle and slope were. I think studying for it before hand helped especially with the quizes. My goal for next quiz is to try to get every question correct and work on my weak spots like, finding missing side lengths, going slow and reading the questions thoroughly, and double checking my awnsers.
My overall score was 511 and my overall grade was grade 7. I was in the 68th percentile. In I ready I scored the highest in geomtry, I was placed in mid 8th. I idin't really have a lowest grade because all my other domains were in grade 7. By the end of the years i-Ready test, I want to score in the 8th grade level. I will do this by reading and thinking things through slowly and writing down things anhd using visuals and notes to help me remember the stratagies in what we are doing.
Algebra quiz 1
In this quiz the topics covered were the constant of proportionality, equations for the constant of proportionality, and proportional relationships, In this quiz I got a meets because i used my notes and strategies to understand the content and met each standard/key concept. My goal for the next math quiz is trying to retain the knowledge even more so I can achieve the end of unit assessment and by the end of the year I ready and CMAS tests.
