My goal for respect is to consistently and actively listen with my eyes and ears while teachers are talking or classmates are presenting.

This is what I commit to doing that will contribute to me accomplishing my goal for Respect:

1. Being careful about choosing a seat in which I may be tempted to talk with others.

2. Developing a habit of checking in with myself to make sure I am present.

Others will know I'm actually doing it when they see me:

1. Others will know that I am actually accomplishing my goal because I will be quiet and focused on whomever is speaking. 

2. They will see that I have my eyes on the speaker

The difference it will make is:

1. Socially I will grow

2. Academically I will do better

My goal for integrity is to often be a role model for others.

This is what I commit to doing that will contribute to me accomplishing my goal for Integrity:

1. I will have integrity for others 

2. I will help others when they need it

Others will know I'm actually doing it when they see me:

1. Role modeling for other students

2. Helping people out

The difference it will make is:

1. 
   People who didn’t understand before will understand

2. People will know what to do if they’re being off task

My goal for effort is to see failures and challenges as an opportunity for growth.

This is what I commit to doing that will contribute to me accomplishing my goal for Effort:

1. I will put more effort into knowing that i did not as great as I could have

2. I will learn to grow from my mistakes

Others will know I'm actually doing it when they see me:

1. Working harder to grow

2. Working harder academically

The difference it will make is:

1. Mentally I will grow

2. Academically I will do better

My goal for refinement is to develop a set of strategies for remaining focused and on task during work time.

This is what I commit to doing that will contribute to me accomplishing my goal for Refinement:

1. Has developed a set of strategies for remaining focused and on task during work time 

2. Knows which strategies work best

Others will know I'm actually doing it when they see me:

1. Staying on task or using my strategic approaches for staying on task.

2. Knowing whats going on

The difference it will make is:

1. If I stay on task. I will get my work done faster

2. I will have better quality work

At the beginning of the year, I demonstrated ownership by completing tasks on time and doing the tasks without having to be reminded. I understood ownership to mean doing the work you were supposed to do and doing it well. By the end of the year, I hoped to be prepared and ready to work and be well informed on the project topic. I think I showed the most ownership on the rocket science exhibition because for that project, I carried most of the weight. One of my group members didn’t really do their work and I had to do it for them. It showed ownership because I would ask her to do her work but she wouldn’t so I had to do most of it myself.

At the beginning of the year, I demonstrated being helpful by giving people useful feedback so they could improve their work. I understood being helpful to mean being supportive to people and helping them out to make their work better. By the end of the year, I hoped to help the team solve problems and manage conflicts. I think a time I was helpful to my other team members would be the chemical reaction exhibition. We helped each other with our chemical reaction and with our speech. I think I was the most helpful when doing our speech because I helped my group members stay on task and write their part.
