Respect
Respect
Be kind to your peers and teachers. Like the image says when you give respect you get respect, and the other way around.
Goals for respect: I have to work on listening with my eyes. I can listen with my ears well but I feel like most of the time my eyes are somewhere else. For all the pink in exceeds, I just feel like I’m in charge of myself and other people can do what they want. It is not my problem. But sometimes, people can be disrespectful to some of our teachers so I could tell them kindly to stop.
More specific goals:
Consistently actively listens with eyes and ears while teachers are talking or classmates are presenting.
Leads classmates to work collaboratively.
Encourages others to be respectful towards teachers and students.
Consistently encourages others to listen with eyes and ears while teachers are talking or classmates are presenting.
Is a role model for other students.
I've been working on this goal but I have not exactly accomplished it.
Integrity
Integrity
Integrity means to do the right thing even when no one is watching.
Goals for Integrity: I don’t feel like I’m that much of a role model and also I’m just trying to let people do their own thing. My dad has a saying that’s, “Not my monkey, not my circus.” I feel like it obliges to here. But, I will try to set people straight if they are really being disrespectful.
More specific goals:
Is often a role model for others.
Provides reminders to others to act professionally and do the right thing.
Holds others accountable.
Encourages others to be honest and trustworthy.
Is a positive role model for others.
Goal reflection:
I didn't work on being a role model much. I occasionally remind people to be on task but it doesn't happen a lot. I hold others accountable for their own actions, but if I'm not involved in the situation, then I'm not going to get involved. I haven't been working on encouraging people to be honest and trustworthy. And I don't see myself as a positive role model for others.
Effort
Effort
Effort means to push yourself and try really hard. Effort also requires grit.
Goals for Effort: I could take more risks in my learning.
More specific goals:
Often takes risks in their learning (takes on challenges, goes beyond, etc.)
Seeks out and takes on challenge extensions.
Refinement
Refinement
Refinement means to edit and make sure that it is your best work.
Goals for Refinement: Take a little more time on my work and to go above and beyond with what I’m doing.
More specific goals:
Is able to use a variety of strategies for tackling a task.
Gets started on tasks without prompting from the teacher.
Monitors the effectiveness of
strategies used for tackling a task and is able to adjust as needed.
