Dividing fractions
This was a very important thing to learn because its something you have to know. Important detail - Base times height equals area.
It's the relation between two amounts showing the number of times one value contains or is contained within the other.
I learned that a rate is like if a person is walking 2 miles in 1 hour, than they are going 2 miles an hour. A percentage is, like if you had a pizza and you ate half, than you ate 50%. But those are just simple explanations.
Dividing Fractions
A fraction is a little bit of a number, so half of one would be 1/2 but imagine the 1 up top then a vertical line in the middle, then a 2 on the bottom. That is the same with any fraction. How you divide fractions, is you keep the first fraction the same, then you change the division sign to multiplication, then you flip the other fraction over. So if it was 1/2 divided by 4/1 then you would change it to, 1/2 multiplied by 1/4. We have a catch phrase to help remember it, Same, Change, Flip.
