About Me

My name is Jamalee Desmond. This is my 33rd year of teaching; all in the Mounds View district. I have taught 1st, 4th, and 5th grades. I graduated from the U of M with a Bachelor's degree in Developmental Child Psychology and a post-baccalaureate in Elementary Education. I graduated from Bethel College with a Masters in Educational Leadership. I am a life long learner and I love teaching! 

When I am not at school my favorite pass-time is spending time with my 16 year old son! I also love to travel!  If I find moments of time to myself I like to read, research interesting topics, play games and watch sporting events. 

I look forward to each new year of school when I get to meet all the students. I learn so much from them during the school year which makes every day so fulfilling.  Academics and learning are important and it is wonderful to watch the students grow. Building courteous, independent young people with a growth mindset and one of inclusion is, perhaps, the greater goal. A growth mindset and interpersonal skills are key to applying the academic talents and learning in the future.
