Teacher: Mr Young
Issue: You have recently joined the local sailing club. You need to keep practising the skills you have learnt.
During lockdown you are unable to get out there and practise on the water.
Given Brief: Using materials from your home, you are to make a sail that you can use in your backyard.
You are learning how to trim the sail.
These are the materials I used:
I used and old tarp and found four ropes.
I tied a knot in each corner of the tarp, this gives the rope something to pull against.
Tie a rope onto each corner, find the wind and go sailing.
If it's really windy you will need one person on each rope.
Watch out for rope burn, hold on tight. Wear gloves if you need to.
Family holiday many years ago.
