Pablo Picasso's art was very different. It is described as Abstract Art. Watch the video to find out what that means
Picasso had a close friend known as Dora Marr. He painted abstract portraits of her. See the slideshow for some of his work. She is sitting in a chair, and I want you to look carefully at patterns used in his art .
You will need: Pencils; copy paper as a practice sheet; Cartridge Paper for your final art work; Watercolours and fine brush; fine point handwriting pen.
Today you are going to be drawing your own version of Dora sitting in her chair. We are going to create art based on the picture below. where the colours are not as bold but it has different pattern work on the top once dried.
The video might help you to know where to start on the paper to ensure that you can get everything on your sheet. Your art does not need to be the same as this. You will need cartridge paper for this task otherwise your paper will go soggy and rip.
Once you have drawn the outline of Dora and the chair, you can use watercolour wash to add colours where you want them to be . When it is dry, add your line patterns using a fine black or blue handwriting pen.
