We continue to be open during coronavirus, however, some of our services have been altered to ensure the health and safety of our staff and residents. The safety of our colleagues and residents remains paramount to us, therefore we have taken steps to reduce the risk. Our Covid-19 policy.

You can find our coronavirus policy below, which outlines steps taken by the care home to keep colleagues and residents safe from Covid-19. Whilst we understand our restrictions might be tighter than other aspects of society, we politely respect that you follow our rules due to the risk placed on us being a care home.

Do I need to take a test prior to entering?

Relatives visiting residents:  No test is required unless specified otherwise (e.g outbreaks) but you should test if able to.

Professional/NHS visitors & other visitors: you must present a negative test result from the last 24 hours using a text/email from NHSresult or a test provider.

All colleagues:  Testing is not required unless you or someone you live with has Covid-19 or Covid-19 symptoms.

Do I need to wear a face mask?

Yes, medical face masks are compulsory for both colleagues and all visitors. Cloth face coverings will not be accepted. If you do not have access to a surgical face mask, we can provide one upon entry. See our mask policy for more. 

From 1st January 2023, face masks are now up to personal discretion for general use. However are still mandatory in the following cases:


Do I need to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19?

No, it is no longer required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 but it is encouraged you take your recommended doses. 11-15: 2 doses & 16+: 3 doses

I have tested positive for Covid-19 can I still enter for a shift?

No, please stay at home and inform the management team. You can begin taking rapid tests from Day 5 and if there are two consecutive negative results you can return to work. However, you must continue daily testing from Day 5-10 and if any results are positive return home again. If you still have symptoms or do not feel well, please stay at home even if the results are showing negative. Day 0 is the date of your positive test or first Covid-19 symptoms. I have tested positive for Covid-19 can I still enter for a visit?

No, please stay at home and cancel your visiting appointment. You cannot enter until 10 days have passed since your first positive result.

Someone I live with has Covid-19, can I enter?

Colleagues

Yes, but please complete daily testing as a precaution and consider wearing extra PPE.

Any visitors

No please stay at home until 10 days after the positive result.

Someone I live with or I have flu or a respiratory infection can I enter?

Residents visiting relatives

No please stay at home until 5 days after the last onset of symptoms if either you or your household has cold/flu-like symptoms.

Colleagues

No please stay at home until 5 days after the last onset of symptom, if this applies to you only.

How can I get lateral flow tests/ rapid antigen tests?

How can I get PCR tests?

PCR tests are no longer available from the NHS for those in England and Wales. You must purchase a PCR test privately.

Remember!

You must fulfil your legal duty to report all lateral flow tests online after the result has been shown on the cartridge. You will need the confirmation email or text message to prove you are negative for COVID-19. When registering, choose options for social care when it asks you for the reason for testing, and enter our UON number 10001824.
