It emerges as pale yellow. Then as the exoskeleton hardens, it gets its spots.
Those big things are not exoskeletons. They are a raisin cut in half after being soaked in water for 5 minutes. Once they eat it all up, they will get more.
This one stayed by its pupa shell all day long.
Here are two clips of an adult ladybug moving around. The ladybug didn't move around much at all, and the other one didn't leave its spot by its pupa shell.

Unfortunately the first ladybug has mutated wings. Probably because of the silk that got stuck to its chrysalis.
