A q-tip was used to safely remove the silk connected to the chrysalises.

They turn an interesting yellow before they pupate.
Then they hunch over, almost like how the caterpillar hangs in the J.
Notice how they seem to be suctioned to the dome. You can see how the shell (we are used to seeing on adult ladybugs) is forming.
