at Monticello High School, Nathan Herfindahl has conducted performances in concert across the country. His choirs have performed at the Minnesota Music Educators Association (MMEA) Midwinter Clinic, The Big Sing at Saint Cloud State University, Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis as part of the Cantus High School Residency Program, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C., the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery, Weber Music Hall at the University of Minnesota Duluth, the Elmhurst Centre for the Performing Arts, The Landmark Center, and the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts.
Known for his musicality, and expressive phrasing, Dr. Herfindahl can evoke a dramatic pallet of sounds from his ensembles. Utilizing an unmatched vocal ability, Dr. Herfindahl creates performances that have been praised for their ability to move their audiences. Over the years, Dr. Herfindahl has conducted performances of works by; Eric Whitacre, Jake Runestad, Eriks Esenvalds, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Claudio Monteverdi, Morton Lauridsen, Benjamin Britten, Sir John Tavener, Z. Randall Stroope, and countless others.
In addition to his work with a'cappella choral repertoire, Dr. Herfindahl has conducted several masterworks, including: The Faure Requiem, Vivaldi's Magnificant, The Verdi Requiem, The Mozart Requiem, and Brahms' Ein Deutches Requiem.
