Monroe County Schools offers high-quality preschool services for children ages 3–5 through two programs:

Children with developmental delays or disabilities may qualify for special education services beginning on their third birthday, regardless of family income. Services are individualized through an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and delivered in the least restrictive environment.

➤ Monroe County Preschool is a Kentucky State-Funded Preschool Program

Children may also qualify for state-funded preschool if they meet one of the following criteria:

• Are 4 years old (by August 1) and live in a household with income at or below 160% of the federal poverty level,

• Are 3 or 4 years old and have an identified disability, regardless of income. Income Form
