FAFSA & CA Dream Act Application opens December 1st
All CSU's and all UC's are not considering SAT/ACT for admission purposes.
Some colleges/universities are reverting back to requiring standardized tests. These colleges/universities are mostly ivy league schools. It is important to check the schools website for updated information.
More than half of schools in the U.S. have gone either test-optional or test-blind. Check out the list of other colleges by clicking HERE.
If you still want to test for out of state or private colleges sign up now for an October or November ACT or SAT.
Do not stress! Most colleges will not penalize you for not having a test.
Here are some additional considerations:
If ANY of the colleges you're planning to apply require the SAT/ACT, then you will need to take it.
If any of the colleges you're planning to apply are test optional, you may choose to test if your score is on the higher end of the mid-50 percent accepted student score range (or higher) OR if you would like to be considered for scholarships/merit-based aid from the institution.
If the colleges you're planning to apply to will NOT be using the SAT/ACT (i.e. CSU's and UCs), then you may opt not to test.
*Note: The College Board has suspended its Subject Test program as well as the SAT essay.
