In this one trimester course, you will explore drawing, painting, collage, printmaking and sculpture. The projects are designed to teach you the visual elements of art, while giving you the freedom to incorporate your personal interests. You will become acquainted with many famous artists and their role in shaping today's art scene. This course is for all sixth grade students and will help you develop confidence in self- expression as you continue your middle school career.

In this course, you will work with a variety of media while learning about the visual elements and design principles of art. You will work on in-depth advanced art projects, engage in group work, and work with a variety of areas in art including drawing, painting, printing, collage and sculpture. The projects are designed to promote awareness of your artistic abilities and to develop confidence in self-expression. You will also get a feel for your personal style and become aware of areas in art that you may want to specialize in when you extend your study as a high school student.
