Peer-to-Peer is an elective course that provides students an opportunity to support and model academic and social skills from one non-disabled peer to a peer with a disability. There is a focus on leadership skills, understanding and adapting to individual differences in the school setting, written and verbal communication skills, modeling social experiences, and advocating for others. The curriculum includes and evaluations are based on journaling, pre/post assessments, classroom participation with peers, and trimester projects.
Prerequisite: None. Student must fill out an application form and if selected, goes through a short interview process to determine if the class is an appropriate fit.
