School Culture & Instructional Program

My goal as an instructional technology coach is to empower educators and drive impactful technology use in their classrooms. My objective is to get our staff to transform their instruction to create better and more impactful learning opportunities for students. This means leveraging the most powerful tools and strategies available, with a specific focus on digital tools. 

Mr. Vacca's Tech Toolkit 2021 is a document that serves as a guide for remote learning utilizing Google for Education. These instructional technology trainings are also provided in-person throughout the year. Starting in September 2020, I launched a weekly series called "Bill’s Briefs". In summer 2019, I created and ran a summer STEAM Camp for students in 2nd through 10th grade.  It ran for six weeks and focused on coding, video game development and video production. Nintendo Labo Classroom: 

I collaborated with Nintendo, Institute of Play and our Bradt Primary Special Education staff to pilot Nintendo Labo Classroom. Even though it was designed with students ages 8-11 in mind, we were able to expand the curriculum from Pre-K to 5th grade. Our school was selected to meet the Director of Nintendo Labo and we were able to showcase our curriculum to their development team.

• Teamed up with Nintendo of America to borrow 30 Nintendo 3DS consoles and copies of Super Mario Maker. The following three-part series showcases our idea, planning and implementation.
