September 2017 - September 2019: Assistant Principal at Bradt Primary School & K-12 Instructional Technology Administrator
September 2019 - Current: K-12 Instructional Technology Administrator, Technology Department Head & A.P. at Mohonasen H.S.
Every year, I meet with our Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction to set my goals for that year. We check in half-way and at the end of the year to reflect on those goals. Every year, I either achieve my goals or recognize where I have fallen short and correct those shortfalls. Being transparent and addressing my areas of growth model the same expectations I have for our staff and students. Here is a video example of one year of goals: End of Year Goals 2019-20 Update.
During my stay at Bradt Primary, I assisted Leslie Smith in running our summer school programs. Here are two videos that recap some of the highlights of our Jump Start and Summer Star students: Summer Stars and Jump Start 2017 & End of Summer Stars recap video 2017.
As the head of the technology department for the last two years, one of my main goals was to increase student enrollment. Our entire technology team came together to help create this Mohonasen Technology Department Promo Video for 2020.
Celebrating our Mohonasen educators who have received tenure or are retiring is crucial to our shared vision of learning. It gives our staff the recognition that they deserve for adhering to that shared vision of learning and that they have been a huge asset to our community. Here is a video of the 2020 Tenure & Retiree Ceremony It's equally important to celebrate students' achievements to continue that shared vision, so I have helped all of our buildings with their celebrations. The following are some video examples highlighting this work: Mohonasen HS AP + Honors Courses video, Draper Middle School Honors Program 2018 & High School Academic Awards 2020
I passed the Google for Education L1 & L2 Certified Educator Exams in Spring 2018. I was accepted into their Certified Trainer and Innovator cohorts in 2020. I collaborated in and/or led multiple large-scale projects with Google for Education, including the Junior Training PD Series, Trainer promo video, and most recently, the very popular Google Classroom Video Series.
I serve as head of the K-12 Education Technology Action Group (ETAG) Committee. Lisa Cutting originally ran ETAG until she left our district. Before the pandemic, we spent our meetings finalizing our ETAG - K-12 Tech Scope and Sequence. Since March 2020, ETAG has grown to be the largest committee in the district with over 50 members. This team of instructional technology leaders have been hard at work sharing their skills and flipped classroom lessons, especially once we began quarantine. Our goal this year is to increase our Google for Education L1 and L2 Certified Educators with the hope of becoming a reference district. Here is a 2020 video example of our agenda, another video example and a written agenda example from 2018.
I also lead the Mohonasen Futures Committee. This is a subcommittee of teachers within ETAG that are looking to become Google for Education Certified Trainers. These teachers share best practice examples during faculty meetings, offer trainings at faculty professional development sessions and assist with my Bill's Briefs instructional video series.
I was the administrator in charge of Bradt's 504 Committee during my two years at Bradt Primary. Our team consisted of school counselors, special area teachers and the child's teacher. I would also communicate with the parents of the child after our 504 meetings to make sure they were aware of the new strategies we were going to implement with their child. This document is the template our team would use when a student was brought to our committee.
I am a member of the Portrait of a Graduate committee and collaborated with a team of administrators to help define our mission. In order to communicate our goals with the rest of the Mohonasen community, I created this mission statement as a video.
Led numerous job interview committees throughout the district, from Bradt's cafeteria-aide positions to the Director of Athletics.
I've conducted over 100 teacher APPR observations. To help our team of administrators with the online recording format so that their observation process was seamless, I created this video My Learning Plan + OASYS Guide.
A true shared vision of learning must include a student's family if we are going to achieve our district goals. When our district went into quarantine in March of 2020, one of the challenges our district faced was their lack on knowledge and skills with remote instruction. Our team of Google Certified Trainers plan to roll out Parent-Family Information Technology Training Series in the spring of 2021 to help close this gap and strengthen our shared vision.
