A Nearpod lesson was used in a Primary 1 Writing (To Town) lesson to consolidate learning from a recent Learning Journey. The lesson began with a Time to Climb quiz, which helped recap the places students visited and assess their understanding of sights and sounds. Following this, students used the Collaborate Board to brainstorm the different sights and sounds they had encountered during the Learning Journey. To wrap up, students responded to an Open-Ended Question, where they formed and shared their own sentences using what they had brainstormed.
Nearpod was also used in a Primary 2 Writing lesson on the theme “An Embarrassing Incident.” Students first watched a video about a character experiencing embarrassment. They were asked guiding questions about how the character was feeling and how they could tell. After the discussion, students brainstormed situations where they themselves had felt embarrassed. Using the five senses, they described how they felt during those moments while looking at a series of three pictures. This helped them build vocabulary and sensory details to prepare for their writing.
