Flipgrid

P5 VIDEO JOURNAL BY CAMELIA

Flipgrid was used as a video journal for students to share about their March holidays, as students do not write personal journals in P5. This was a great way to build TSR and SSR as they could watch each other's videos, learn more about one another and give comments. Students also learned to share their thoughts confidently while exploring the Flipgrid platform.

P6 Reading aloud practice by anissa

The best way for students to monitor that they are reading expressively with the correct pronunciation and appropriate intonation and rhythm is by recording their own reading and listening to it afterwards. Flipgrid allows them to do just that and it also promotes collaborative learning through peer assessment and teacher's feedback. The 'play back' function allows students to practise reading aloud as many times as they want and choose only their best reading aloud for submission, thus providing an encouraging and non-threatening learning environment.

P5 JOURNAL BY KIM HWEE

I used Flipgrid to get my students to record how they had spent their March holidays. They were very excited about it. They did a very good job by sharing photos, using different backgrounds, emojis and even music. Their sharing was rich and students were eager to see the videos put up by their peers. I also wanted the students to record their singing of Chinese songs as part of the MT fortnight programme. Students were excited to share their videos too.
