Seh Chuan School began humbly as Tuan Cheng Public School. It was situated off Jalan Jurong Kechil at Jalan Seh Chuan, near Bukit Timah hill. In 1933, it was registered with the department of education under British rule.
The school was renamed Seh Chuan High School under the leadership of late Principal, Mr Ng Kian Peng. It became a full school with Primary and Secondary classes.
A 6-storey annex building was erected to cater to the growing school population. Donation drives started from the school management, teachers, students and parents, and spread to the neighbourhood of Beauty World Market. Donation funds were even raised at a nationwide Seventh Month Ghost Festival Auction Event and by other charitable organisations.
The school could not accommodate the growing number of students, so the school met with officials from the Ministry of Education who offered to take over the school as a government school.
Shuqun Primary School and Shuqun Secondary School moved to Jurong East street 21 campus.
Shuqun Primary School moved to its new building in Jurong West Street 51 in 1986 with an enrolment of 533 students and 17 teachers. We have since undergone PRIME and added new buildings so as to better serve the community in educating the children.
