In February this year, our school's parade square underwent some major upgrading work. Indian national foreign workers Mr Ponnusamy and Mr Muthukumar spent weeks tirelessly helping to refurbish our entire parade square. Whenever we passed by them on our way out of school, our hearts brimmed with gratitude for the sheer amount of effort they were putting in to make our parade square look perfect for us. Mr Ponnusamy and Mr Muthukumar displayed utmost dedication in working to revamp our parade square, and we were certainly in awe of their incredible work ethic.
From time to time, our teachers have always reminded us to express our appreciation for the people we cross paths with in our daily lives. When we noticed the immense efforts of these foreign workers, we felt that this was an excellent opportunity for us show how thankful we were to them. Upon getting to know that we had this in mind, our teachers came up with a brilliant idea for us to do just that. We were told to write little notes of appreciation to the workers, thanking them for their hard work. After that, we pasted our notes on two huge cards and decorated them beautifully.
A few days later, our teachers invited Mr Ponnusamy and Mr Muthukumar to our class to present them with the thank you cards we had prepared for them. We will never forget how their faces shone with pure delight upon receiving the cards, and we experienced indescribable joy knowing that we had done something wonderful for them. It was a truly heartwarming experience for all of us.
'Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for happiness. It's the spark that lights a fire of joy in your soul.' – Amy Collette
Let us all do our best to appreciate the people around us whenever we can, in our own little ways.
