This year’s 95th Anniversary celebration comes at a time where our nation is facing an unprecedented crisis not seen since independence. While it would have been easier to not have a celebration and continue to focus on our daily schooling, Covid-19 has also taught us to be more resilient, adaptable and appreciative of our circumstances. Therefore as a school, we have decided to re-frame and see this situation as an opportunity for our students to practice gratitude, positivity and resilience in authentic situations.
Under the tabs, you will see how our students have made videos and cards to thank our front line officers, foreign workers and the school’s non-teaching staff. They also posted encouraging messages online to share positivity and build a greater sense of belonging amongst Shuqunites. In fact, the school is planning to get our P1 students to pen their reflections and aspirations into a time capsule which will only be revealed in 2025 when they are in P6, in time for the 100th Anniversary! So while this year is one that will be painfully remembered for Covid-19, Shuqunites will also remember it as the year where we have adapted as a school to ride the challenges and emerge stronger for the future.
