Students will be able to recognise places in Singapore. They will also be able to identify the location of places in Singapore on the map.

Students will learn the purpose and importance of nature reserves and reservoirs in Singapore. They will do so by looking at Labrador Nature Reserve and Bedok Reservoir. 

Students will learn about four different types of maps. 

Students will learn to identify and use map title, map colours, map compass, map symbols, map scale and a grid to read a map. 

Students will learn to recognise six places in Singapore. They will also learn to identify the locations of these places on a map using grid squares.

Students will learn how to determine the reliability and relevance of online sources, including information generated by AI tools.

Students will be able to explain the consequences of individual and group actions on the environment. They will also be able to describe how individuals and groups can protect the environment.

Students will learn how people can use resources wisely to protect the environment through the 3Rs – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. 

Students will learn how to recycle the right way. They will also learn to identify what items can and cannot be recycled. 

Students will learn about the importance of reducing food waste. They will also identify ways to reduce it. 

Students will learn about e-waste. They will also identify actions they can take to reduce the impact that e-waste has on the environment.

Students will learn about the Urban Heat Island effect and its impact on the weather conditions in Singapore. They will learn to explain the consequences of individual and group actions on the environment i.e., the weather conditions in Singapore. 

Students will read a story that highlights key milestones in Singapore’s sustainability journey over the past 60 years and encourages everyone to take environmental action.

Students will be able to explain the consequences of individual and group actions on the environment. They will also be able to describe how individuals and groups can protect the environment.

Students will learn what individuals and groups can do to conserve energy and protect the environment in a school.

Students will explore the significance of forest conservation in Singapore through a game quest. They will learn about the impact of individual and group actions on the environment and how they can contribute to conservation efforts.

Students will be able to recognise that there are challenges in Singapore’s environment. They will also be able to describe how Singapore adapts to overcome challenges and meet needs. 

Students will learn how Singapore adapts to challenges in food supply through urban farming practices.

Students will learn about some steps Singapore is taking to strengthen food security. 

In this gamified lesson, students will learn how Singapore adapts to challenges in meeting its water needs through inquiry-based learning.
