Students will learn what family artefacts are, and how they show that every family is special. They will also learn that family artefacts tell us about the heritage of different families in our community.

This is a two-part, teacher-facilitated, inquiry-based lesson.  In Section A, students will learn how to ask questions to find out about others' interests. In Section B, students will ask their friends some questions and compare their interests.

Students will be able to identify the different roles that people play in the groups that they belong to.

Students will learn to identify the roles they play in school and at home.  Students will view some resources, answer some questions, and collect clues to complete a virtual puzzle hunt.

Students will learn that all of us can share common attributes.

Students will be able to identify the different roles that people play in the groups that they belong to.

Students will learn what a community is. They will also learn about the different roles people play in the communities they belong to. 

Students will be able to identify different places around them.

Students will join John and Grandma to discover places and find their way around the neighbourhood using simple map-reading skills. Students will also learn about the functions of the places they visit in this interactive resource.
