Mathematical principles are derived both logically and inductively.

AIM:

To develop mathematically curious learners who use critical thinking and mathematical reasoning to solve real-world problems and contribute meaningfully to the community.

Peer tutoring for students needing extra support:

Students will use their passion, skills and knowledge in mathematics to provide support to their juniors who need help with the subject
Students should be able to teach concepts to their juniors and be able to manage their time and commitments

Our Approach

Before each session, tutors prepare solutions and explanations to guide the Secondary 1s through difficult concepts. They also use AI to create math games, allowing tutees to assess their knowledge while having fun and competing with peers. Pre and post-quizzes were used to gauge understanding, measure improvement, and adjust the pacing of future sessions.

Learning While Teaching

Tutors recognised that not every tutee grasps concepts the same way or at the same speed, and had to adjust their explanations on the spot using different examples and analogies. The tutees also helped tutors see questions from different perspectives, sometimes offering approaches the tutors hadn't considered, encouraging them to stay open-minded and learn alongside their tutees.
