Dragonfly Watch 2021
Community in Nature (CIN), part of SMSS DOTS Programme, is a NParks initiative to equip students with an understanding of Singapore’s natural heritage.
The CIN team participated in the Dragonfly Watch (DFW) 2021, a citizen science initiative which encourages Singaporeans to be involved in collecting information about the dragonflies in our parks and gardens. The data collected from the assigned transect contributes to national conservation efforts.
We hope to share our learning with the school through the following video which provides a summary on dragonflies and damselflies, which are often mistaken as dragonflies. Through the video, you will learn to identify some common dragonflies and damselflies in Singapore.
After watching this video, you are strongly encouraged to put your knowledge to test via a quiz accessible from https://go.gov.sg/dfw2021. Classes with the highest participation rates will win prizes.
